Who, how, why, what??????
Who decided there was a gap in the market for a USB lava lamp??
A Vintage French "Boiler" lamp. Unlike Lava and Glitter they work on their own principle and I love the colour of this model producing wonderful kinetic effects. A friend and fellow collector Jonas, introduced me to these wonderful lamps and they come in a great multitude of sizes and forms.
today I got to see a good friend I haven't seen in a while.

Zig Zag Glitter Lamp. A beautiful design featuring a polished circle on the base and a ziz gag bottle. The form of the bottle really makes this lamp rather unique and looks stunning with the glitter. You can see the various parts. In true fashion, a rainbow is painted on the base of the bottle as the glitter flakes will pick up the colour and produce dazzling effects. I the circular polished mirror on the base of the lamp, it is truly wonderful and adds a lovely touch to the lamp.
Stunning French Glitter Window Lamp. Featuring beautiful glitter swirling and an all metal polished design.

Ryan built this display case for one of the new Tony Hawk skate shops circa 2000-2001. This was one of 6 or so that he made. I believe this exact one ended up in Salt Lake City... Each was based in a mannequin head and then custom built up and hand-painted. He did all of the details by hand, including the painting of their eyebrows and lips (and the false eyelashes). This particular model has lettering on her teeth too.
We saw one of the others at the Grove in Hollywood, CA last year, although the store is now a Roxy shop and no longer a Tony Hawk store. It's still there (as far as I know): www.flickr.com/photos/giddygirlie/2237142657/
A rather unique glitter lamp, believed to be vintage and unfortunately missing a lot of glitter fluid, this is in a rather futuristic rocket shape. This is the only one I have ever seen of this kind. It does look rather novely looking, but I really love the metalwork base and cap.
so this is a thing, and you can buy it. my phone's camera sucks, go look at someone else's pic instead - www.flickr.com/photos/that_alias_is_already_taken/4114231...
Students were treated to a mid-finals night of relaxation and pampering in the College Center. Massages, Happy Lights, Haircuts, Truffles, Tea, and mellow visuals - what more could you need!?
