Democracy for Scotland: The Referendum Experience was launched at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum on 27th April, 2012.
The exhibition was formally opened by MSP Linda Fabiani and the launch was attended by many of the interviewees who contributed their recollections of the 1979 and 1997 devolution campaigns to the Devolution Referendums Oral History Collection at the Scottish Political Archive
Democracy for Scotland focuses on the campaign for a Scottish Parliament in the second half of the twentieth century. In particular it chronicles the history behind the two devolution referendums of 1979 and 1997 and explores the nature of the Yes and No campaigns for both referendums, their results and the re-establishment of a Scottish Parliament.
The exhibition draws largely on the collections of the Scottish Political Archive (SPA). SPA is based at the University of Stirling and is dedicated to collecting oral and other material relating to the political history of Scotland in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The exhibition features referendum campaign materials including leaflets, pamphlets, posters and badges deriving from all the major political parties and umbrella groups. It also offers visitors the opportunity to hear the voices of politicians and campaigners discussing their experiences of the referendums of ’79 and ‘97, the intervening period and the establishment of a Scottish Parliament.

The scan blasted out some of the lighter hues in this drawing, but you get the idea. I think I probably should've spent longer on this, but I just wanted to draw something and this is what I ended up doing.

A new church in a blue-collar suburb of St. Louis is getting ready to start monthly services in April. In February, they will start interacting with the community through servant evangelism.
The church is really trying to meet the needs of people who are in the midst of challenge. They want to embrace hurting people. There is no desire to be finished or polished or deny the difficult part of any story. That has informed some of the early branding.
This piece (a 4" square postcard) needs only to establish brand awareness and provide basic when and where information. It's "tone setting" and will be followed in March and April by two more pieces, each more specific about the first service in April.

Space X launched a Falcon 9 rocket on Thursday, 8-24-2017 from SLC-4E, Vandenberg AFB, California. The two-stage rocket lifted off at 11:51 a.m. PDT (2:51 p.m. EDT; 1851 GMT).
With LC-40, it was built originally for Titan IIIC in 1963. Complex 41 launched the awesome Viking and Voyager missions. It was refurbished in the 80s for Titan IV launches. In 1999, the structures were razed to build what you see now for Lockheed's Atlas V rocket which continues to launch things.

These were shot in Greenbelt, Md, not far from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
The sparrow project is an attempt to improve my bird story telling along with honing eye hand/AF coordination skills using a common subject readily available. The subjects must be in motion as a prerequisite since shooting ducks in a barrel is just no sport at all.
I was spurred into the project due to my complete dissatisfaction of prior attempts while on a trip to Tanzania. Learning the delicate balance between shutter speed, proper long lens techniques, iso settings and AF modes is a challenge for something just slightly slower than a speeding bullet.
This will be ongoing to support my next African adventure later this year.
