My baby doll Haley had outpatient surgery this morning. She was having entirely too many ear infections so she got ear tubes put in today. She did very well and OMG she was high as a kite. It was SO weird but CUTE and OH SO FUNNY seeing her like that.
BTW the blue on her face in this shot is chalk NOT blue eyeshadow :)
Just love the way the light was caught on her eye lashes, breasts don't hurt the composition either.
Strobist info: fired an SB-900 through a soft box at 45degrees from the subject...used an unfiltered SB-700 for hair light.
I went to my 7 year olds Christmas concert and after the songs etc we were invited back to the classroom for 30 minutes of Christmas activities, here is a shot of her with my Pentax KX and the luscious Super Multi Coated Takumar 50mm f1.4 at f1.4!
I like this shot as candids with kids are hard to capture!

I gave Indie some new eyelashes and they've changed her look. To me she looks more shy, but still cute.
Central Dance Ensemble, led by artistic director Maggie Lasher, is proud to offer a challenging new encounter with dance in its annual concert April 26 and 27, 2018.
The highlight of this year’s event is the debut of two new pieces that Lasher has set on the CDE, incorporating elements of the flow arts. The flow arts are a kind of meditation, a dance, a game, a challenge, and a fantasy. Performers typically manipulate – juggle, spin, toss, wave, fling - props, perhaps lengths of silk, wands, fans, hoops, lights, even fire, to generate an almost hypnotic effect, a kind of optical illusion.
In what may be a first in higher education, our student company will perform using buugeng, a flow prop developed in Japan.
The evening also includes new pieces by guest choreographers Jhon Stronks and Ashley Horn Nott, and showcases the student choreographic works selected to perform at the American College Dance Conference as well as members of Houston's METdance company.

Week #12 theme: "I spy with my little eye something that begins with L ..." these long blonde lashes with which my daughter is blessed.
These came in today too - but once again, I think I might revert to her prior look. Don't get me wrong, I like the lashes and they make her look more 'real' but they also make her look prettier and a little bit older and I'm not sure if that's what I want for this character.
I will leave them in for awhile and see if I get used to them. Thankfully, lashes are easily removed.
Ainsley is my own Lasher BJD!!! :0) I love her face, and her body poses REALLY well. :0)

one of my goals for the new year is to save up to buy a better camera so I can take beautiful shots of my children. I also want to take a photography class, so I can learn how to take "real" pictures, with good lighting and such.
When I look at the pictures some of the women I admire on Flickr take, I feel somewhat envious and very dumb because my pictures don't even come CLOSE to being beautiful like theirs.
But my children are beautiful, so I love each picture I take of them, even if they aren't perfect or don't have great lighting or aren't framed perfectly. To me, they are beatuiful because of who THEY are.
And they? Are perfect.
I wish I was better at this, but, the truth is, I have no idea what I'm doing and I use a simple "point and shoot." But, I try. And I hope I at least do a good job of capturing "Moments" in their lives and emotions that they feel. That's what is really important to me.
Macro of my eyelashes.
I was actually aiming for my eyes, but I missed... barely.
But it turned out as a nice abstract.
One of the BEST doll photographers I've met here on Flickr is Markus Royale. And he has a great LIV eyelash tutorial on YouTube! Well, since I have two Haydens, I thought I'd follow the easy instructions, and give one of my Haydens some eyelashes!
Realizing, though, I didn't own a pair of eyelash curlers (never used 'em in my life!) my husband was sweet enough to drive to the dollar store, twenty minutes til closing, and put down one whole dollar on my very first pair of eyelash curlers. :)
As for the fake lashes: I already had a pair for a photoshoot I have planned for myself. I'm gonna dress up like I Dream of Jeannie's evil sister! ;)
But with my Canon on the fritz, it was gonna be a while before I could use them.
