A break in the rain and a glimpse of sun at Euxton allowed me to catch a late running Crewe to Carlisle engine move. The 10 loco lash up consisted of all class66's led by 66536 and followed by 552,527,564,563,525,953,509,597, and bringing up the rear was 66514.
Just wanted to brag about the focus on my tamron. $300 lens that gives me FABULOUS focus. I am always reluctant to use it and happy when I do!
There are a lot more than forty lashes, especially if you count the reflections in his eye. I liked the lash reflections as much as I liked the actual lashes. Another photo of my buddy, Rexx.

Check those lashes out ladies!
I'm not a fan of those huge spider lashes that seem to be the trend these days. However, this African Wood Owl was captivating. Equipped with 2 sets too to flutter away provocatively ;)
Captured out in the wilds of Park Hall Country Park, Staffordshire!
This happened not long after the previous photo, the clouds appeared to be emanating from the mountain.

New New New!!!!
Many of you know I love making Lashes, and these are 100% hand drawn by me! They are a little unique. I made three styles, full, sparse, and quarter. They are color change via the Lelutka EVOX HUD, and you can choose upper or lower lashes independently.

A shot were the pursuit of shallow dof has cost a little clarity - the eyes are good however the "nose" is a little soft.
However wanted to post as this one has some fine lashes!

I seem to be taking a lot of people-stuff recently.
Oh, and check it large/original!

When I was growing up and would always go out railfanning with my dad, we would usually hit up BNSF's coal line northeast of Denver (Brush Sub) or the UP line to Cheyenne (Greeley Sub). Visiting the Brush Sub was always a favorite because we both loved coal trains and today I still do. Power at the time was mostly SD70MACs with an occasional AC4400CW. As time progressed on, power slowly became more GEVO and SD70ACe dominant with the occasional SD70MAC. Yesterday, I was out in Northeastern Colorado looking for storms, which nothing really initiated as forecasted. However, after arriving back into Sterling, I noticed an outbound crew getting onto a loaded coal train led by a solid set of Heritage II painted SD70MACs. I already knew I had to chase this back west into the late afternoon/evening sun. Chasing this lash-up certainly brought back some memories.
After waiting for an eastbound to get onto the Akron Sub, BNSF SD70MAC No. 8963 leads this westbound loaded coal train out of Brush, Colorado, into the evening setting sun on August 14, 2019.

A throwback Thursday shot to one of the many cool lashes that CP 277 graced us with over the years.
Nothing but great standard cab variety. It seems like it was so long ago...

I've posted this photo before, but only in the lousy quality you get when scanning negatives with a low-budget scanner. So this is the same photo developed on 18x24 cm PE-paper and then scanned with my All-In-One HP printer. There is such a striking difference between the two pictures. See it for yourself:
