Makers in the Jocelyn H. Lee Innovation Lab were challenged to transform potential energy into kinetic energy. (That's fancy-talk for playing with marbles.) Marble runs were created with track sections 3D printed on the Gigabot, tracks folded from cardstock pre-cut on the laser cutter and a variety of hand-made and found items. "Scratch" is a easy and fun programming environment for beginners of all ages. Recently some young makers learned about programming nested 'repeat' loops to generate geometric patterns. Those drawings were then used as patterns to be cut on the laser cutter with some outstanding results.
