The Roasterie is a coffee shop in Kansas City, MO with the distinction of having a C3 cargo plane displayed on top of the building. I'm not sure what the full story is behind this display, but it one of the cooler things to see in Kansas City. Photographed with my Improved Conley Magazine camera on Foma 100 film. Developed with 510 Pyro at 1:100.

Ansco on the move.

Nice day today so I ran out to try a few shots with the Ansco and Kodak lenses I recently picked up.

Ansco’s a pretty heavy beast.

When I uploaded version one I promised (or threatened) to add a 2nd version later. I think there's a difference in the meaning of both pics. Whereas the photographer was the main topic in version one, in this 2nd version the focus lies on the nature that spreads out in front of him. He himself is only an observer who admires what he sees....

For the Collective 52 Group prompt "Favorite Book or Magazine" The only magazine I subscribe to is "View Camera Magazine" for it's inspirational large format fine art photography.

My wife and I were in Kansas City last weekend looking to photograph some Fall color...unfortunately the leaves are just barely turning here in our area and we didn't have an opportunity to capture Fall colors. While we were driving around we discovered this cluster of shops...what I call junk shops in the Plaza District and we spent some time exploring. It was actually pretty cool and this building in the foreground was actually 3 buidings connected together and they were so full of stuff you could barely move around. It was a cool experience though and we're definitely planning to return and spend more time here...there are several other shops behind the camera and further down both sides of the street. Image captured with my Linhof Technika IV camera on Reflx 100 film. Self-developed with CineStill's C31 kit.

I was in downtown Kansas City today shooting some film and I set up to shoot the building at the end of the street. This young lady with a wrapped bouquet of flowers and a bag of groceries passed through just as I was ready to expose the film. The grand building on the right and the building on the left are part of the Kansas City Library...the building at the end of the street is the Catholic Center. Captured using my Linfhof Technika IV on Foma 100 film. 90mm Angulon lens f22 at 1/25. Developed with 510 Pyro at 1:100 dilution.

Oregon's Stunning Oneonta Gorge. I've made several fruitless trips to this mystic little slot canyon in the Columbia River Gorge. I've been stymied by high water, I've been drenched in a torrential down-pour and I've been tormented by throngs of recreation minded hiker-bathers types. During my most recent trip, I was prepared, mostly. I had a big dry-bag for all my large format gear, the weather was great and I was mentally prepared for the large man-eating log jam near the entrance of the canyon. I wasn't prepared for the brutally low lighting conditions. Up to two minutes in some shots. Yikes! Luckily, it was mostly windless. I really like this composition and how it the little stream pulls me into the falls at the end. I debated printing this image in portrait or landscape format the first time around( I shot it both ways) but the little stream won out over more mossy canyon walls, at least this time around. Please let time know what you think and share your own stories about This beautiful little canyon below. Thanks, www.mikeputnamphoto.com

Excuse the strange crop, I expected the whole of her head to be in! (see below)

Another from the first Intrepid 4x5 photoshoot so I shot 6 sheets of 4x5 film and then a roll of 6x7 in a roll film back. The roll film back was not a tight fit so I missed a few shots (and the crop was tighter than expected (I thought I had marked it exactly but no).

Scan of a darkroom print on Ilford MGWT RC paper.

This is a composite picture, with two negatives printed simultaneously on the same paper.

The picture of the Moon is on a 9x12cm sheet of film, which is projected on the baseboard of a 4x5" enlarger (at a 4.5 magnification), and onto an 18x24cm sheet of film containing the clouds (which is contact printed).

With the same exposure (and some minimal dodging and burning) the two negatives are combined into one print.

Both negatives are Fuji AD-M xray film.

They were both shot with the same camera, a Kodak Master 8x10" view camera, but on different dates.

The Moon was shot with a Symmar 360mm lens on May 29, 2018.

The clouds were shot with a Fujinon W 180mm lens on June 14, 2018.

Both negatives were developed in Rodinal (RO9) at 1+100 dilution (1lt solution in a 10x12" tray), at 24C, with intermittent agitation.

The Moon for 10'min.

The clouds for 12'min.
