I spent four days in hospital this past weekend for an emergency
appendectomy. (Well. . . every appendectomy is an emergency, isn't it,
so that's redundant.) I had my fifty-year-old Wirgin Edixa and took
several pictures, even gasp allowing some to be taken. (I am not posting the ones showing me
with two IV connections and an oxygen supply going to my nostrils.) The
Edixa I have is in good health, but it produces pictures generally of
such low contrast that I don't use it much. Bored and awake at 4 am
Sunday morning and, seeing a break in a snowfall, I took this picture
from my room window. Twenty-odd years ago, I spent some time
photographing radio towers; I am glad to see the two lights at mid-top
-- they are the tower of VOWR, a local radio station. This is looking
pretty close to due West. It is the full frame of Kodak 400CN.
I was hoping for a laparoscopic procedure but the surgeon told me I
didn't have enough fat, which knowledge pleased me a little. So she did
a single, 8-cm cut. I'm looking forward to taking pictures of my first
body piercings: the seven titanium staples that are holding my side
together for the time being.

Endoscopic Forehead lift
Forehead lifts are also known as brow lifts. The forehead is most often lifted by making a hairline incision and removing excess forehead skin. Men with receding hairline do better with an incision in an existing forehead crease. The best way to lift the brow is endoscopically. Small incisions are made above the hairline to give access to the forehead (similar to laparoscopic abdominal surgery). The forehead is loosened, shifted up, and tacked down. Nothing is removed. The incisions are small so healing is very quick.
