Die Kernbeißer Familie ließ sich lange nicht im Garten blicken, habe sie einmal mit 2 Jungvögeln gesehen, aber leider nicht ablichten können. Sie waren zu schnell oder ich zu langsam! Aber für Nachwuchs ist dieses Jahr gesorgt!
La châsse reliquaire est certainement l’œuvre la plus précieuse du château de Langeais. Datée du XIIIe siècle, Bâtie en forme d’église, la châsse a été réalisée en bois polychrome et doré, rehaussé de cabochons en cristal de roche. Elle est ornée des Apôtres sur la partie basse et des Vierges sages et folles sur le toit. Les petits côtés sont parés de figures de rois, d'évêques et de femmes, qui n'ont pas pu être identifiés.
Voor de komst van overgedimmensioneerde lagevloertrams waren de vijfdelige Düwag-trams van de Rheinhaardtbahn de langste trams van de wereld. In 1967 leverde de wagonfabriek uit Düsseldorf vier van deze 38,5 meter lange giganten aan het interlokale trambedrijf. Oorspronkelijk was er een lopende conducteur in de wagen die de maximaal 320 passagiers van een kaartje kon voorzien. Vanwege de lengte werden deze trams in de volksmond "Tatzelwurm" (lintworm) genoemd.
Niet alleen de tram maar ook de rit was lang. Het bijna 27 kilometer lange traject van Mannheim via Ludwigshafen naar de wijnstad Bad Dürkheim werd in ruim een uur afgelegd.
In 1977 vertrokken de trams vanaf de Altermessplatz in Mannheim. Wagen 1019 staat hier klaar voor vertrek.

Das nahe Berlin gelegene und bequem mit der S-Bahn zu erreichende Naturschutzgebiet ist wegen der Artenvielfalt und der dort auftretenden ökologischen Besonderheiten ist ein bedeutendes Feuchtgebiet im Land Brandenburg. Die Langen Dammwiesen selbst können nicht betreten werden. Sie sind Heckrindern und Konik-Pferden vorhehalten. Ein schöner Rundweg führt auf einer Anhöhe um die Wiesen herum.
Situated near Berlin and with easy access by suburban railway, this nature reserve is an important wetland in the state of Brandenburg because of its biodiversity and ecological particularities. The meadows that gave their name to the reserve ("Long Dam Meadows") are not accessible to the public. They are left to heck cattle and konik horses. But there is a beautiful trail forming a round course along the edge of a forest on a higher level.

The words were written by the Scottish bard, Robbie Burns (1759-1796), in 1788. This year is significant for the nation of Australia, as this was the year when the First Fleet settled in Sydney Cove. Even Burns admitted a number of the lines in this poem were drawn from much older Scottish folk songs. In 1799 George Thomson published the words to music, although again much older musical motifs were drawn upon.
During the 19th century, Auld Lang Syne (which means literally, "old times since" or "for old time's sake") was linked directly to Hogmanay, the Scottish New Year's celebration, and it has remained this way around the world since.
In North America on December 31, 1929 we find one of the most touching stories about the song. This was the year when the stock market crashed. Millions were thrown into poverty and the future looked uncertain. The Canadian bandleader, Guy Lombardo, was broadcasting live on radio throughout America. He told the story of Auld Lang Syne and asked that the listeners join hands and sing the song as they faced an uncertain future. The tradition continues to this very day.
So whatever may have happened to you in 2024, find someone you love, hold their hands and sing in the New Year with hope in your hearts.

Nederlands laatste klassieke buiten- of op z'n deftig Haags " intercommunale"- lijn Voert tegenwoordig van Scheveningen naar Delft Zuid over een totale lengte van 20.5 km.
Het is dit jaar precies een eeuw geleden dat de elektrische tram Delft bereikte, en al die tijd reed hij langs de Delftse Vliet waar het karakter van een interlokale tramverbinding ook nu nog tot uiting komt. De sinds 1966 lijn 1 geheten lijn werd hier vastgelegd aan het begin van het traject over de Delftweg langs het water, vlak voor de voormalige remise
s-Gravenmade.
