Happy Halloween for those that celebrate it.

My Flickr friend Chris ( www.flickr.com/photos/cbonney/ ) came to Providence last week. We had a great time over dinner and then a walk on Benefit Street in the foggy night.

Tonight I decided to go for a walk along the riverside and try and get a few night time shots. This was one of the middle set, handheld on a wall I was really pleased with the atmosphere it created on the brickwork of the old maltings.

Have done a BW version of this too, will post later.

When on a short trip to my hometown Copenhagen, I fell in love with my brother in law's lamp made of wood. Here it is with its cosy light.

The seasons are changing. Long days in the garden are gone. I found Poppy curled up under the lamp, fast asleep - dreaming of next summer perhaps..... :)

5X7 inch watercolour on 140 lb. Arches. This is to be a donation to our art group for our Mystery Masterpiece fundraiser in June. We each donate 3 5X7 paintings without signing them and they are bought by lottery for $25 each. This is one of our biggest money makers for the centre. After they are purchased the buyer can then ask for us to sign their painting.

I was in Glenarm this evening, having a chat with my former tutor from my foundation art year; bless him, he tried to bring out the fine artist in me almost 32 years ago, that was so well hidden it was almost non-existant.

But fate would have it that we met again in coincidental circumstances, and with his guidance and support, I am moving into places that are entirely very new and exciting. Watch this spot...

Having left his house tonight and heading home, i was distracted and had to stop and try out a shot or two. The light was beautiful and a wee experiment or 2 did not go amiss.

After cosmos and jazz at The Phoenix, this little area is a favorite photo op spot. It reminds me a little of the French Quarter in New Orleans with the old time streetlamps, some ornate old storefronts and cobblestone walkways.
