I love the lamp post since I love keeping my chin up, looking toward light, and lamp post they always stand straight, tall and high, shining bright.
Happy Warm Orange Thursday!
"Alons, viens encore, cherie.
J'attendrai patiemment sous la lampe dans la vieille avenue"
(In fact, the lamp posts are not alone, at Louvre :)
Riven, Alison, Dominik, Marigold, Abigail, Siren, Bonnie, Octavia and Ashton enjoying the campground at Little Lamplight!
Lamp Posts such as this which are amongst the leaves of trees make an interesting pattern. It also reminds me of the wartime song "Lily Marlene" who, as in the song, stands underneath the lamplight. Sung in English by Vera Lynn and both in German as well as in English by Marlene Dietrich. This famous love son was heard all over the world and touched the hearts of many soldiers on all sides of World War II.

Marlene Dietrich actually sang in both English and German with equal success. I saw her in Montreal perform it in both languages with that throaty voice. She could often be seen in NY City restaurants and on the streets. It is a very beautiful song and was well known by soldiers on both sides of the war. I used to hear it as a child; it still makes me feel like crying; war is such a terrible thing, no matter what side you are on and sadly my family had to fight on both sides.
The sun had been down a minute or two but I hung around taking some shots of the moon and was rewarded with a fantastic afterglow of an ok sunset !
"Cause I hate the ocean, theme parks and airplanes,
Talking with strangers, waiting in line..
I'm through with these pills that make me sit still.
"Are you feeling fine?"
Yes, I feel just fine."
The sky was a bit dull in the original, I'm sure I'll find a use for an uber vibrant galaxy with modified Victorian street lights at some point.
