This is Swanage Pier, Dorset, I did a couple of variations of the colour wheel. It looked effective at the time.

A quick trip to the pub and this lamp is directly outside. I thought it looked quite atmospheric.

Captured for the "We're Here!" group's visit to the "Light, Lamps & Candles" group.

Lamp light taken at the temple

Just settling into our apartment for a month in downtown Lisbon and thought I'd post this view from our rear window. An intriguing contrast to the rural cottage settings I've left in Florida and Nova Scotia. Can't wait for tomorrow to start exploring this amazing and ancient city!

I snapped this photo at Stu's gig at Lafayette Park in Watkins Glen, NY. This is why I like zoom lenses. I didn't want to disturb the lady who was listening to the music.

The Samsung Galaxy A15 (the only smartphone I've ever owned) is my last resort in taking photographs. But better this than to miss a shot entirely.

To be fair the camera does a good job, and I have the option of selecting a 50 MB image size. Still only jpegs (which gives me so much less to work with than a RAW file), and the resolution is still "impressionistic" let us say.

There's a story behind these two images today. The sculpture (next image) was taken at about 1.30pm on my way to the Specialist Clinic at the Launceston General Hospital for a 2.00pm appointment. After waiting and waiting and waiting, my specialist was finally able to see me. I left the hospital at 5.30pm! But rather than complain about our poor overworked hospital staff, I was genuinely grateful when this scene caught my eye as I walked back to the parked car.

The twilight was perfect, and the old building, the tree and former gas lamp that had been converted to electric, captivated me. Click.

Cowane’s Hospital is a 17th century almshouse in the city of Stirling. It is also known as The Guildhall, as the Stirling Guildry have held their meetings here for several centuries.
