Found this ladder once on the English Channel. It was evening, the mood of the sky was really dull before this image was taken.
Hope I could climb up to the Sun following the ladder.

Houses need maintenance, and a year ago today Sande was re-roofing her parents' house. I posted a squared-off and monochrome version of this photo on that date; here's the original framing, in color.
Also: I posted a 1992 photo of this home just a couple days ago. This photo shows its current look.
==========
My daily photo projects don't have themes, but they do (usually) have "rules"--about what camera I'm using for the month, and perhaps about framing. Last January I was using my Olympus EM-1 Mk II with its 12-40 mm lens; framing was to be (mostly) square. I also had a year-long "rule" of mostly monochrome.
The point of the "rules" is to encourage me to better understand my gear. I can testify that to a certain extent that objective works. I'm sure I'll discuss that point again.
And, for what it's worth, my photo processing software (DxO's PhotoLab 7) calls the effect I used on this photo last year "Old Postcard." I don't especially like it, but sometimes it seems appropriate.
"Rules" in quotes because I generally feel free to violate them. The important thing's the daily photo, not the rule.

A new and extremely exciting lifer for me!! Growing up in the north woods and loving woodpeckers, I sure do find these cactus-loving woodpeckers to be very amusing!

Each room had its own ladder/s. This room was about 50m in, and had an eerie sound, like a dog bark!.. Perhaps a frog, which echoed throughout the drain!
Although agnostic, I'm absolutely fascinated in religious symbolism.
All bias aside, religion is the epitome of human creativity.
This is the new Ladder that Roberts Park Fire Dist bought. It is a 2008 Pierce Arrow XT with a 100' Aluminum Ladder. This truck was delivered in December 2009. I found out about this truck when I drove past station 1 and saw on the sign in front of the station saying "Welcome Co. Ladder 31". Check back soon for my picture, and more info on this nice truck.
To keep from having my shots of this awesome rig ruined by the high sun, I had him place it awkwardky in accordance with the sun. Yes, its a bad shot and in shadows but better than the rest of the trucks. This rig just saw its first working fire since January.

Tiny bears Mardi Gras parade! King Rex and Queen Snowy are very regal atop their float. Tiny bears have come in from all over the place, trying to get a look at the king and queen, and hoping to catch some special beads!!
I think that many of these bears will be going to Mardi Gras balls this year!
Happy Carnival Season, Ya'll!
The only way us mere mortals can make it up into there is by a few thoughtfully-placed ladders. Making it back down would be even worse :)
The path of the water flow that created this slot is clearly shown on the wall behind Mrs M.
