Understanding Labels Used for Packaging Including Pressure and In-Mold Sensitive
All you must do to be bombarded with numerous products almost exactly like yours is to walk down a few aisles in the store. Many individuals are trying to figure out a way to make their product stand out from the rest. The labels and decoration used for a product are critical for creating an awareness of the #brand. This is how important information is conveyed to the consumer including the proper way to use the product, the ingredients contained in the product and the importance of the brand. If you look around, you will discover many different types of labels available for packaging. These are most commonly found with the shipping supplies. Two of the specific labels for packaging are called pressure sensitive and in-mold. They are both discussed in-depth below.
In-Mold Labels
In-Mold labels are also referred to as #IML. They are preprinted, thin, polypropylene or PP, foils or labels made for insertion into a plastic, open injection mold. There are several methods used to hold them in place including electrostatic charge or vacuum ports. Prior to the injection of the plastic resin used for molding the part, the mold is closed. The final injection part is then used to permanently integrate the label. One of the biggest advantages of IML labels for packaging is the usage of adhesives is completely eliminated. This make any issues that once occurred during the process of application irrelevant. IML labels are additional more tamper resistant and durable. This means any condensation caused by the product will no longer be a problem. This type of label is excellent when used for products with a high volume due to the large impact it makes. IML is appropriate for the bottom, top or any side of a container. This provides you with a lot of room for your brand message, decoration, etc.
Pressure Sensitive Labels
PS, or pressure sensitive labels are an incredibly popular method used for #labeling. PS labels are exceptionally easy to apply because they are self-adhesive. They can be used for nearly all containers, regardless of the shape or the material. These labels work well in smaller quantities, and can be purchased at MOQS, or low minimum order quantities. PS labels have an additional advantage because they make a lot of specialty decorations possible. This includes textures, scratch 'n sniff, perforations and foil stamping. PS labels have the ability to be die cut, so many kinds of shapes can be made to follow the containers contour and interest is created.

East Anglian Breweries Ltd, Ely, Cambridgeshire
An original label for a bottle of Ely Silk Stout made by East Anglian Breweries at the Forehill Brewery, Ely in the 1950s.
I was born in Ely in 1961 a short walk from the brewery, which stood at the bottom of Forehill facing up Broad Street.
Broad Street is the main road through the Waterside district of Ely, an area of terraced houses and industry. Generations of my family were born, lived and died in this part of Ely, appearing in just about every street at every census. My father was born in a terraced house in a yard behind the brewery in 1935.
His brother, my Uncle Brian, was working in the brewery at the time I was born. In 1960, Brian took this photograph from the top of the brewery, looking down Broad Street towards the gasworks and the station.
The Forehill Brewery had been founded in 1894 by A&B Hall, and it merged with Cutlack & Harlock in 1930 to form Hall, Cutlack & Harlock Ltd.
Twenty years later in 1950 there was a further merger with Huntingdon Breweries, and the new firm was named East Anglian Breweries Ltd. However, in 1960 the brewery was taken over by the rapacious Steward & Patteson of Norwich, who in turn sold out to Watney Mann in 1967, who closed the Ely Brewery down in 1969. It was demolished soon afterwards.
Each mixed lot comes with a field tag that can be used to associate each specimen with the original field data. Each field tag represents a specific trawl haul (station) from the research cruise. Labels are made for each lot in order to keep all specimens associated with their collection data.
