I had two containers, so I put together two of these loaded with copper scoops, spoons, dippers, enamelware scoops and dippers and threw in a few blue flowers. I usually use one on each side of the sideboard.

Finished up my Butterfly Gold Cinderella Bowl Set today! :) This pattern has grown on me!

Strawberry blueberry raspberry tart, perfect for summer!

This is a large and heavy set. The chartreuse bowl is 12". Perfect condition, I don't think they were ever used.

This photo was taken on Thursday, August 12, to document my possessions for insurance purposes.

Spotted at a local antiques mall.

The art of making artificial food is evident here - no two are alike.

Sama is an rare Indian Cereal grass, that's also known as Little Millet or Samai. After using it to cook a simple upma (Risotto/Porrige) I dared to make idli with it using this Recipe.

Idlis are a sort of fermented, streamed pancakes, that have a great spongy texture. The challenge is that they require some special Indian kitchen utensils.

After you let the Millet and lentils soak you are supposed to grind them with your wet grind stone. Turns out if you blend the mixture really long in works as well. Make sure it's really smooth.

After some fermentation you are supposed to steam it in your idli molds. I managed to use a bamboo steamer and banana leafs instead. The banana leafs were available frozen at a local Asian grocery.

I finally got around to taking a picture of this baby and posting it! I got it this past June with my World Points that accumulated on my credit card. I'm pleased as punch with it!

Except for the kitchenware section, aisle 2 next to the back wall of the deli and bakery had been stripped clean, this photo taken September 16, 2013. This wall has likely never been seen by the public before, below the green trim work that is . But after the wall's brief exposure, it'll likely meet it's demise along with the deli, bakery, and floral departments on the other side of it.

A selfie up on the third level of the Baan Kudi Chin museum in the Thonburi district of Bangkok, Thiland. On this level are displays of furniture, kitchenware and other household items of the Roman Catholic (read Portuguese) family how lived in this house. An altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary and other religious images were standard features in Catholic homes in those days, where the family members would assemble at the end of each day to pray together. (see subsequent photograph later on in this album. One thing I did not realize at the time was about the sitting doll in the background. I came to know about this only when I was doing research for the captions. That seated doll is apparently the depiction of the phi hua prik or Chilly Head Ghost, also referred to as the pho nu liab or Little Liab Ghost. Legend has it that parents of the Portuguese children would at that time insist that their kids be home by six, before the bells of the Santa Cruz church began to ring. The parents frightened their children into submission by threatening them about this chilly head ghost which would turn them into their playmates if they do not get home by six. A good thing probably, in that relative dark and deserted days of yore! Having read the tale, it reminded me of Wee Willie Winkie we used to read about in school. He was not a ghost of course, but he least allowed kids to stay up until eight! (Bangkok, Thailand, Oct. 2018)

HPD students need to go through on complete cycle of the Design Process.

Today they were divided up into three groups. Each group considered Lighting, Seating or Kitchenware respectively. These photos depict what they came up with after a strict time allocation of 20 minutes.

Each member of the class must now generate a Brief over the weekend. This is to be available for discussion on Monday. This will in turn establish just what angle they will come at in order to develop their own unique solution.

A 1940s larder, a display of kitchenware that wouldn’t look out of place in a well-known British department store today! The rather fabulous ladies of the East End WI are making jams and pickles from original wartime recipes which will all be displayed here in original 1940s Kilner jars.

:D

One of my birthday presents was a Friendship casserole set :) We found it at an antique shop in Medina when I was home on spring break!

Of all the wonderful tool makers of the world, Jernbolaget in Eskilstuna, Sweden was one of my favorites. Jernbolaget (or The Steel Company if you prefer the translated version) was much more than a tool maker. The company is mostly known as a large supplier of kitchenware, household items and cutlery. I don't own very much of their products, but the large cast iron kitchen scale is one of my favorites.

Older items normally display the full company name "Eskilstuna Jernmanufaktur AB" or "Eskilstuna Jernmanuf. Aktiebolag", later one's the abbreviated "Jernbolaget Eskilstuna".

The company symbol was an anchor and although it can at times be poorly stamped, it appeared on all their products, even down to the smaller chisels.

I have not sen a greta deal of hand tools from Jernbolaget, so I am uncertain about which types of woodworking tools they actually made.

At a later stage Jernbolaget exported their woodworking tools, some of them under the brand "Anchor". At this stage Jernbolaget also started making hand planes.

I have never seen or tried a Anchor hand plane, so I cannot say whether they were good or not. But the cutter ought to be excellent. The steel made by Jernbolaget was equal to that of Erik Anton Berg.

My spice rack, completely filled. They were closing down the chemisty lab at work, so I salvaged a TON of old glassware, which is being used all throughout my kitchen. Mmmmm... better living through chemistry :)
