The away team has also a very secret special mission: Looking for some new items of Boleslawiec pottery to complete the captain's collection.

Lacking a formal place to put the (still unknown maker and unknown pattern) casserole, I decided to plop it down on top of the lazy susan in the kitchen. It looks okay there for now.
Here we go! I'm 90% positive the orange bowl goes with this set. Honestly, even if it doesn't, it looks great to me so I don't really care! :D
With the end of semester rush in full swing this was a great pick me up!
Another successful Craigslist adventure. Went to pick up this set today. It is the Spring Blossom Cinderella Bowl Set. It had NEVER been taken out of the box. The ad said it was a wedding gift from 1972! The icing on the cake is that this set cost me $10!
I am not planning on using these bowls but I just couldn't leave them in the box. It just didn't feel right! It was really exciting to open the box though :)
Lakeland is an English company that sells some very useful household wares. They are not cheap but the products are usually high quality and often unique.

I have not been able to find any good references online for dating vintage Le Creuset cookware. So I decided it would not hurt to post my own photos as references.
Two of the pans here I acquired new, so I know exactly how old they are. The others are from thrift stores, but I have guesses as to their ages based on various information I've found online.
If anyone else has info to add about identifying old vintage Le Creuset, please add it!
Please note: If your Le Creuset has the three concentric ring logo, it dates to NO EARLIER than 1972, which was the first use of that logo according to their trademark application.
From top, clockwise:
1. Pan (Flame) of undetermined age, possibly 1960s or 1970s. No logo on lid knob. Round hanging loop. Cream glaze on inside of lid. Glaze on base, and glaze on lip. Pour spout.
2. Pan (Cherry Red), purchased new in 2009. 1972 logo on lid knob. Name "Le Creuset" and concentric circles on top of lid itself. Round hanging loop. Black phenolic handle. Cream glaze on inside of lid. Glaze on base, No glaze on lip. No pour spout. Pan curves near top and at base. Tab with "Le Creuset" on top. "Precision Pour" design.
3. Pan (Cobalt), purchased new in 1990. 1972 logo on lid knob. Round hanging loop. Cream glaze on inside of lid. No glaze on base, and no glaze on lip. Pour spout. Size in circle on base. Cobalt color without gradations, unlike later pans.
4. Pan (Flame), probably 1950s-early 1960s. No logo on lid knob. Lid knob very narrow Bakelite with point on top. Triangular hanging loop. Orange glaze on inside of lid. Glaze on base, and glaze on lip. Pour spout. Size in diamond on base.

I fell in love with this but didn't buy it, I went home and told my husband how gorgeous it was and how much I loved it and he took me the next day to buy it all for me :) I love him!!!
A blog reader pointed me in the direction of this Alexander Henry print "Harvest Town" last week. It's pretty much a direct copy of my favorite vintage Pyrex pattern, Butterprint. He changed up the colors and added a barn, but otherwise it's just about exactly the same.
For some reason it doesn't bother me as much as fabric that copies vintage fabric. At least he went out found the "inspiration" on something non-fabric, haha. Either way, I really couldn't live without the fabric, since it is my favorite pattern. If only he had kept it turquoise and white! ;)
As with every move, I'm prioritizing the bookshelves. Now, thanks to inadequate cabinetry and a tall toddler, we have to accommodate some kitchenware, too.

My Mom and I headed to the monthly flea market this morning. Didn't have too much luck, but did manage to find a pink 402!! I was in shock! In less than 24 hours I found the 404, 403 and 402!
I'll may end up scouring online for the 401, I'm too impatient to wait. Maybe it will go on my Christmas list?
