SB900 bounced off the wall behind camera. Another SB900 around the corner camera right. A third SB900 on the floor behind the island, and an Elinchrom Quadra in the adjacent room at the end. Colours are warm, because the kitchen is painted in light cream color.
In hindsight, I think it may have looked really good to have placed a warm light outside the window camera right, to mimic sunlight.

This was my parents and my family home for 45 years. Beautiful house, with a lot of character. It was sadly ripped down to build build two "skinny houses, with lane houses".

One of my favorite morning meals: my homemade granola with yogurt, raspberries, flax seed meal and fresh grated black pepper. Espresso, of course! ;-)
I will post the recipe for the granola in the next day or so.

The kitchen at the Coyote Flaco where we realised that it wasn't the local potatoes that were to blame for their lack of cooking, but the temperature at which water boils when you're 2,400m above sea level.
Overall I'm pretty happy with my little budget kitchen. I wish the cabinet over the microwave was the same size as above the refrigerator, I think it would look less like steps that way and the microwave would be a little higher. I think there was an issue with the electricity, I can't remember.

"The east room, thought to be the original parlor of the 1668 house, was divided in 1909. The northern two
thirds of the original room were remodeled to represent a seventeenth-century kitchen with vertical shadowmolded
sheathing on the walls and a large brick fireplace fitted, in the seventeenth century manner, with a rear
oven and herring bone patterned brick below a smoke panel. The exposed framing members are, with the
exception of the chimney lintel, the only original 1668 features in the room."
An expensive bouquet of purple anemones and yellow freesia posing prettily on my kitchen table on this day last year. They were worth every penny :)
This is the essentially finished look of our kitchen. We spray painted the hardware, painted, and replaced the lighting fixtures.
