Blend of three ambient frames. Used a slightly darker one for the backsplash/counter area below the cabinet on the left (it was very blown) and a brighter one for the cabinetry below (client was concerned about that area being too dark). Client is the cabinetry rep/builder.
Camera could stand to be about a half inch to the right :)
I was originally going to repaint the kitchen with the same aqua in the hallway. I replaced the knobs with Anthropologie aqua knobs and have the old aqua mixer and all my other aqua accessories. I don't know, the apple green really grew on me. This is Benjamin Moore "Folk Art" that loves the lighting in this house.

From one of today's shoots. Canon XTi, Tokina 12-24 mm, 400 ISO, single flash.
Foma's liquid emulsion on 20x20 cm orange-brown ceramic tile (with more structure than previously posted tiles).
Rolleiflex 3.5C w/ Xenotar 75 mm/f3.5.
Fomapan 100 in Rodinal 1+100, semistand 1 h.
Developed in Adox Adotol and fixed in Fomafix.
Untoned.
Matt Varnish x 2.
Was trying to get some usable (for outdoor plantation) Giant Poppy plants from seeds previous summer/fall. They all eventually died. :-((
pretty much done. just need to get a new rug, install the shoe molding, paint the baseboard trim, and maybe make new curtains. i'll eventually put up a tile backsplash. 04.03.11

i think this is the prettiest kitchen we've ever had..the view in just fantastic with all those tropical trees...i adore tropical trees..
I know that I've probably said this before but the kitchen is often the best room of the house, at least for photographing. We the shiny appliances and great counter tops it is usually where the most is spent or done to really make a home shine.
The dirty little secret here is that the cabinets are actually from Ikea. I customised them a little bit and added my own worktop and handles.
Flash and ambient frames blended together. The colors are not as crisp/clean as I'd have liked...any thoughts on that? I did use a lot of ambient here... (The walls btw were painted a very light, sort of peach-y color).
Shot for an interior designer. She specifically wanted this comp to highlight the stove/range, which wasn't really visible in the 'overview' shot that we'd taken of the space.
Will clone the outlets before delivery. And what is that blob above the floor trim to the right of the stove...? Missed it...will clone that as well.
