Why, oh why, doesn't *my* kitchen pantry look like this???
From one of today's shoots. Canon XTi, Tokina 12-24 mm, 400 ISO, single flash.
Vintage metal cabinets were brightened by the addition of butcher block countertops and new door hardware.

This task was pending for a long time .. lazy me! Added a second window, as suggested by a friend. It looks more balanced now I think.
And today I say I love you, to your smile and your scars.
I say my dear, my home is open to you to be at home in.
Come to my kitchen and we'll create something beautiful.

Another picture from the file which I kept for those times when life conspires to keep me in male mode
i think this is the prettiest kitchen we've ever had..the view in just fantastic with all those tropical trees...i adore tropical trees..
I know that I've probably said this before but the kitchen is often the best room of the house, at least for photographing. We the shiny appliances and great counter tops it is usually where the most is spent or done to really make a home shine.
Flash and ambient frames blended together. The colors are not as crisp/clean as I'd have liked...any thoughts on that? I did use a lot of ambient here... (The walls btw were painted a very light, sort of peach-y color).
Shot for an interior designer. She specifically wanted this comp to highlight the stove/range, which wasn't really visible in the 'overview' shot that we'd taken of the space.
Will clone the outlets before delivery. And what is that blob above the floor trim to the right of the stove...? Missed it...will clone that as well.
Feedback and suggestions are always appreciated...thanks!
built a quickie 2 walled room from 3 pieces of plywood. now mame has a space just for her and her woodmate toys!
amenities include: hardwood floors, open kitchen with center cooking island for entertaining, bright and airy floorplan with only two walls, slightly sticky paint, and HDTV.
Blend of a couple of ambient and flash frames.
Had a hard time controlling the ceiling. I find it to be a bit distracting, especially the area on the far left, where the light from the roundish window is reflecting. My eye is drawn to that spot.
Would like to have stepped back and shot this with a longer focal length, but it wasn't possible.
This was shot for an interior designer and a builder. I'll probably end up cloning the electrical outlet (and its reflection :)
Feedback/suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you!
Hello everyone!
I've been out of the loop for a while because of two large projects that are happening.
But in the meantime, I have been constructing a new model, plus drawing up plans for two 1/24th scale houses.
Because I no longer have a shop, all of the model building is done on my kitchen table.
No power tools, just old school saws, drills, x-acto blades and sanding blocks.
I wanted to share my work space with everyone, which is extremely retro and quite homey.
I found everything in the trash, and it's still in good condition.
The room is 10' x 9'. Cozy is a word that springs to mind.
