This is the CVS/pharmacy located at 102 Village Lane in Hazard, KY. It was built in late 2013/early 2014, and opened in the summer of 2014 as a second CVS location for Hazard and the surrounding area. Prior to CVS’ building being here, a small local liquor store known as Village Spirit Liquors was located here from sometime in the ‘80s until it closed in early 2013.
Take Aim door challenge. Kyle, my neighbor, made this cool door. He also makes other wood items, including wood-handled knives.

This was the Kmart discount store located at 101 Town & Country Lane in Hazard, KY. It opened as a TG&Y store in 1980, and had closed in 1986 along with the rest of the chain. Kmart moved from their original store at the Grand Vue Plaza to this location in 1987, and had stayed here until it was announced that it would close (along with many other Kmart and Sears stores due to lackluster holiday sales last year) on May 6, 2012. Like many people in the area, I will definitely miss shopping here due to it being a regular stop in Hazard during my childhood up until the present day. In any case, I wanted to snap a pic before they closed for good.
UPDATE (August 1, 2013): The building will become the new home of Primary Care Centers of Kentucky, a local health clinic that has clinics in three eastern Kentucky counties.
This is the Wal-Mart department store located within the Prestonsburg Village shopping center at 477 Village Drive in Prestonsburg, KY. It originally opened on September 10, 1985, and it, along with Big Lots and Winn-Dixie, would serve as the main anchors of the shopping center. It was expanded slightly in the early 1990s, adding more retail space, a pharmacy, and a snack bar (which is now a Subway restaurant). It also got repainted in 2001 as well as a complete remodel in 2005 and fall 2011.
Wanted to practise some natural looking outdoor off camera lighting, but the sun disappeared too fast to keep a decent shutter speed and have the ambient light still well exposed, however the photos turned out awesome!

This is the IGA supermarket located at 29 Isom Plaza in Isom, KY. It opened in the late 1970s as a Pic-Pac supermarket, and was branded as such until 1998, when it officially became an IGA supermarket. It has always been the only grocery store in Isom, as well as one of two different IGA stores in Letcher County. It underwent a third major remodel in 2016.
This is the Kmart store located at 3889 North Mayo Trail in Pikeville, KY. It originally opened on August 2, 1979 and was expanded in the early 1990s. It is also the only store in Pikeville to have never closed or relocate to a newer location. This Kmart is one of the largest in Eastern Kentucky! It would be one of many Kmarts to close in December 2016, and Rural King would open in this building on September 21, 2017.
This is the Wal-Mart Supercenter department store located at 1851 West Highway 192 in London, KY. It originally opened in May 1997 with all the standard features of a Supercenter (with the exception of a gas station, which it didn’t have until the Spring of 2016). It received a slight remodel on the inside in 2003, an exterior remodel in 2006, a full-scale remodel (along with the new Wal-Mart logo) in 2009, and another exterior remodel in 2012. It originally had a McDonald's restaurant from its opening until mid-2005, when McDonald's was taken out and Subway came in.
This is the Family Dollar discount store located within the Parkway Plaza shopping center at 44 Parkway Plaza Loop in Whitesburg, KY. It originally opened in 1985 as the first Family Dollar store in Letcher County (and would later be joined by Family Dollar stores in Jenkins in 2002 and in Isom in 2015). It was also remodeled in 2009 (giving it a larger food section) and again in 2015.
This is the Wal-Mart Supercenter department store located at 60 S Stewart Road in Corbin, KY. It originally opened as a replacement store for an older Wal-Mart down US 25-E in 1999, and has seen three remodels in 2004, 2012, and in 2018.
