Hemel Hempstead loves its knitted postbox toppers and a number of new ones recently went on display showing support for our key workers and pandemic heroes. They were knitted by Yarnbomb Hemel Hempstead and are raising money for the British Heart Foundation, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, the Fire Fighters Charity, and Raise A Rainbow (NHS). They also knitted this patchwork of squares on the side of Needlcraft. Sunday 4th April 2021.

Oh, lordy. It's a base model* Volkswagen Sharan. Odd as Enterprise never have base models, it limits the resale value at 'disposal' time. An ideal vehicle for a family day out, or a busy Mummy dropping kids off. Surprise, surprise I'm not doing either in this COVID-19 landscape we live in.

With a day off booked, but the lockdown preventing my original plans, I took the camera on a photo walk through central London for the first time in a while.

Recovery for People and Planet Friends of the Earth Scotland Campaign, Edinburgh, Mon 22/06/2020:
Protestors gathered outside St Andrew’s House, Edinburgh, today (Mon 22 June 2020) to call for a coronavirus recovery which is fair and green. The socially-distanced demonstration coincides with the publication of the report from the Scottish Government’s Advisory Group on Economic Recovery.
Key workers, including a cleaner, a doctor and a carer, as well as Scottish Youth Climate Strikers, held a banner saying “Recovery for People and Planet” outside St Andrew’s House - the headquarters of the Scottish Government.
Pictured with NHS key workers and activists is Cat Scothorne (front, correct), aged 17, and a recent school leaver (George Heriots School, Edinburgh).

This one on Woodhall Farm celebrates othe achievements of Captain Sir Tom Moore who raised money for NHS Charities Together in the run-up to his 100th birthday during the COVID-19 pandemic by walking one hundred lengths of his garden. They were knitted by Yarnbomb Hemel Hempstead and are raising money for the British Heart Foundation, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, the Fire Fighters Charity, and Raise A Rainbow (NHS). This social distancing notice outside of a nursery during the COVID-19 pandemic asks parents to maintain a distance of 2 metres from other adults and from children.
In the first phase of the UK's COVID-19 'Lockdown' nurseries were closed to all but vulnerable children and the children of keyworkers. From 1st June nurseries in England re-opened to all pre-school children.
