my daughter gave me soon after she married (24 years ago). I've always loved it but seldom wear it because I'm afraid I might break it's fragile tail...
For Macro Mondays 'Keepsake' theme - my father died very unexpectedly in 2009 and these are the last few letters he wrote to me. They'd be of no value to anyone else but completely precious to me.
A pin from Dundee that I was given when G and I were members of "The Auld Alliance,"

Hope it's within the 3in rule, I can crop it if necessary.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :)
Macro Mondays theme 'Keepsake'. At the beginning 1980s I rode everywhere on my 500cc Honda and carried my Olympus Trip 35 with me. Not the most stunning images given that I went on to things like a Bronica SQA, but it reliably produced a record of my travels. Eventually film seemed to be dead, along with much maligned bikes like my Honda CX500... both that model of bike and Olympus Trip 35s now fetch good money. I acquired 2 of the little Trips and I am keeping one as a reminder of what always seems to me like a better time... all I need now is a tidy example of one of Honda's more quirky yet successful machines.
Macro Mondays theme keepsake. I got this Star Trek badge at a Star Trek store. I think it was a the mall in Caesars Palace Las Vegas. the pin is about 2 inches at it's long point.
I rarely wear jewellery, scarves etc but I did keep some of my mother's things as keepsakes. She always wore some kind of beads, and liked bright colours, reds and yellows. We did both like turquoise so I kept these ones. When she was alive her home was always filled with laughter, even when she was ill; that's something you can't keep in a box. I try to be more like her now that I'm older and wiser.

I had a celebration with 16 lady friends when I recently celebrated another birthday with an '0' at the end.
All women were from different stages and aspects of my life. I have a friend whom I have been friends with since school who made my wedding dress. She brought me this special keepsake. it's good to see she hasn't lost her touch!

-In our family we have the tradition at Easter to give all a chocolate 'Lindt' (Swiss company) bunny, with a ribbon with a bell around its neck.
see:
www.lindt-spruengli.com/about-us/brands/lindt/gold-bunny
Because each family member fears that the others did forget this tradition, the result is that you receive now as many bunnies as you give 😂
Alas the bunnies are not yet on sale here (too early for Easter), so I had to compose the picture with a keepsake ribbon with bell from last year (the chocolate bunny of course consumed ages ago 😉).
The white porcelain/metal dove is a dignified substitute for the bunny, ringing the bell for peace.
...but I don't remember my younger years being that rough ...
For "Macro Mondays" ; theme : "Keepsake".
Hayden is the hush before the storm, the one who sees the cracks in me before they split. I am the hand that keeps him upright when the night hunts him. We circle each other in silence, shadows bound by something no one else can name ... pulling each other back when the edge calls, and daring the world to try and take us.
We discovered our wedding napkins? in a keepsake box and a stained glass yellow heart made by our sophomore high school, son made for Mother's Day, 31 years later, After 55 years, the juxtapositions are interesting..
Macro Mondays: Keepsake
I was very close to my paternal grandmother and great-grandmother. Every year, they would send me a cute birthday card in which they would tell me about their life, their garden, their cats... They were the most priceless gifts, and I have kept each and everyone of them preciously.

The painted blown egg in front was a present given by my brother and sister-in-law. The egg on the left was blown and painted by my daughter many years ago.
