A steel writing pen in a plastic holder. The pen is a Spencerian No. 42 Gilt-Point Dome-Point. The holder is from a Speedball pen set.
Completed project using Alicia Paulson's pattern - Daisy Chain ABC sampler. I'm not much of a planner so my fabric was a funky size. Had to get a mat cut at a frame store. Super fun project but glad to be done and can't wait to give it to my friend!

One of the many vehicles that has come to die at Salvation Mountain made a great 'frame' for the Mountain itself. If you look closely at the reflections in the windshield, you can see the remains of other painted vehicles - one of which says 'Salvation' really big.

Tracey Clark's Picture Fall Day 8: Keeping it Simple
Tracey asked us to explore how light enhances our photography. I think I generally am very aware of light, so I tried to do something a little different for me and play with deep shadows.
You may recognize this as my pumpkin baby (see below).
I'm way behind on looking at my friends' streams. I'll be at my in-laws' tomorrow and Monday and hope to do some catching up then.
A favorite book, first reading as ebook,
second reading on paper. That’s not one of the rules though.
...and sometimes never lets you out. — Same as the other, but with less (no) contrast on the human subject. Strange how adjusting contrast to less than 10% of the foto can alter the mood so much, but damned if it doesn’t.
This pedestrian bridge crosses the largest natural lake on Hawaii's Big Island, it is the 25-acre Waiakea Pond.
