Distorted reflections with a Mallard Duck

I decided to make a kaleidoscope type image in Photoshop, which is this week's theme for the 2023 Weekly Alphabet Challenge. A lot of people wanted to explain how to make such an image - a search for "making kaleidoscope images in photoshop" turned up about 2,000,000 results in 0.37 seconds! I went with the first one and modified it to create this six-sided circle (the original one was an eight-sided square :-)

I thought it also looked good as my POTD :-)

Queen Anne's Lace on a hosta leaf make a very refreshing summer kaleidoscope pattern!!

My little boy named this photo for me, sat on the beach at Newgale watching the sunset. He said it reminded him of his kaleidoscope at home. He promptly shattered the peace on the beach by hurling a large pebble at his sister. Children eh?!

This is my very first moving Kaleidoscope. :-)

I created it from a photo I took of the Prince Biship's bedroom in the Residenz, Würzburg.

I think the people of the 18th century would have enjoyed this type of art. They loved elaborate stuff. :-))

I hope you will enjoy it, too.

Happy Thursday!

P.S. I didn't include music because everyone has a different taste... and I don't think you'd like mine, lol.

If you enjoy this, please be so kind and visit my second project:

Tokyo Station

Tokyo Station is the central station in Tokyo between the Imperial Palace to the west and Ginza in the east. It welcomes around 450,000 daily users and more than 4000 trains per day.

Tokyo station is more than a station. It is a station city: there are tracks, platforms but also restaurants, shops, a supermarket and a hotel at the same place.

This building (which is actually called Kaleidoscope) sits on top of the new Farringdon Elizabeth Line station's eastern entrance alongside Smithfield Market. Designed by PLP Architecture.

It houses the London office for TikTok.

After that iconic shot I upped earlier, I tried out some more long exposure shots of the cube houses. I made several shots with a global view, not specifically centred. Just 1 came up as a good shot, the cube houses wasn't that easy to manage.

Town clock keeps an eye on the slipping time.

A wall of windows look out from the top floors, they have seen many skies blow through

Cars parked along the street resting for now will soon vanish with the fading light.

A kaleidoscope of colors shine in the evening sun, silver grays, golden tans, and warm browns.

White lines point to a starting point. Move up the curb from there and go left or right and let your soul become enchanted with the wonderful scene in the windows.

Kaleidoscope from nature.

"Creativity is a lot like looking at the world through a kaleidoscope. You look at a set of elements, the same ones everyone else sees, but then reassemble those floating bits and pieces into an enticing new possibility."

- Rosabeth Moss Kanter
