Phidippus sp, maybe -
I was shooting some video of our spiny orbweaver at work on a new web when I thought I felt a fly on my shin. Looking down I could see it wasn't a fly, but I wasn't sure what it was. When I bent down for a look it hopped over to a nearby leaf. As I got closer it became apparent that it was a little jumper, and she sat briefly for a portrait.
This is one of the things I love about macro photography - you head out into the garden, or the woods, or the fields, and you never know what nature's going to show you...
Right after the red car does this jump in reverse, they tell everyone how this stunt is really done. Apparently, as tricky as it is to do a jump going forward, jumping a car in reverse is downright dangerous. And the mechanics of it are also tricky since making a car go in reverse that fast will destroy its engine. Therefore, the clever people behind the show have actually put the car's body on backwards. That is, the car is actually going forward (the driver is basically sitting near where the trunk is) and it just looks like it's going backwards.
as usual, very friendly :D

Jumping sticks are a very thin type of grasshopper (family Proscopiidae). They look remarkably like stick insects, until up close you see they have jumping legs like a grasshopper and this noble visage, which is unmistakably grasshoppery, if a grasshopper went through a taffy-pulling machine. A tiny little jumping spider, smaller than a pea, so not too scary for me to get close to. I think the species is heliophanus, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Pelegrina, I think. Natural settings are ideal, but the hood of a car can make an interesting photo...

And if you're in Los Angeles tonight you should go to THIS.

October means the come back of the amazing event, Trick or Trot created and hosted by Evergarden Equestrian. As I got that new pretty mare not so long ago, I kinda want to try her out on jumping as she was sold as a jumping horse and well.. How to say that she MIGHT be a good jumper but she have way too much gas over the jumps, we gonna need to train that before think about the competitions.

The Age of Dinosaur's base and main museum and labs etc are situated on what they call the Jump-up (colloquial name for a mesa or flat topped mountain) about 20 kilometres south-east of Winton. About half that distance is off the highway but all good bitumen roads. The views across the surrounding, almost primeval plain are staggeringly beautiful and you can let your mind drift back 95 million years to what it once was. A picture of that will definitely form once through the displays. If you enlarge or zoom in, check out more Jump-Ups/Mesas out there on the horizon.

Eu posso conseguir sozinha
(minhas irmãs e eu)
Você está pronto para pular?
Você está pronto para pular?
Fique pronto para pular
Jamais olhe para trás, querido
Sim, estou pronta para pular
Apenas pegue minhas mãos
Fique pronto para...você está pronto?

There's only so much you can learn in one place
The more that I wait, the more time that I waste
I haven't got much time to waste, it's time to make my way
I'm not afraid what I'll face, but I'm afraid to stay
I'm going down my own road and I can make it alone
I'll work and I'll fight, Till I find a place of my own
Are you ready to jump?
Get ready to jump
Don't ever look back, oh baby,
Yes, I'm ready to jump
Just take my hands
Get ready to jump
We learned our lesson from the start, my sisters and me
The only thing you can depend on is your family
And life's gonna drop you down like the limbs of a tree
It sways and it swings and it bends until it makes you see
Are you ready to jump?
Get ready to jump
Don't ever look back, oh baby
Yes, I'm ready to jump
Just take my hands
Get ready to, are you ready?

All work and no fighting, I'll find a place of my own
It sways and it swings and it bends until you make it your own
I can make it alone(my sisters and me) (repeat 7x)
Are you ready to jump?
Get ready to jump

This is another photo I took in Madeira. We booked a tour to see cetaceans of the coast to Madeira. We saw a group of bottlenose dolphins and some pilot whales. This bottlenose dolphin played with a plastic bag and jumped out of the water only once. I was quite lucky to get the shot.
Jumping Spider
Another of my Jumping Spider series of photos, captured with a Nikon D610, Sigma 150mm Macro & Raynox DCR250 Super Macro Adapter. The shot settings were 1/60 seconds, f/11, ISO 2000 and the photo was run through Topaz Denoise AI to remove the Noise, then it was edited in Skylum's Aurora HDR to bring out the shadows and highlights before being finished off in Skylum's Luminar 4 (AI Enhance & Structure AI). I ran the photo through affinity to remove some of the dirt from the porcelain tile the spider was sitting on which was distracting, the blue surface is the reflection of the sky from the black porcelain tile.
