I got this shot of Kara, the Kickboxer, practicing her Jumping Spinning Kick. She's quite fierce! :-)

Found this little guy sitting on the edge of our barbecue. A different type of jumping spider to that which I posted a week or so ago, although I have no idea what the scientific name might be,

Doing a double load this morning. I had company last night and couldn't get to Flickr. This Jumper is another of my HDR Cheats I wrote about some time ago where I Quick Retouch in camera three times then combine the four in Photomatix.

Explore is indeed a strange creature. I looked yesterday and found that they had dropped all 109 photos and left the two most recent. It probably goes back to my permission meddling.

Next: Baltimore Oriole.

Thanks for Viewing.

Right after the red car does this jump in reverse, they tell everyone how this stunt is really done. Apparently, as tricky as it is to do a jump going forward, jumping a car in reverse is downright dangerous. And the mechanics of it are also tricky since making a car go in reverse that fast will destroy its engine. Therefore, the clever people behind the show have actually put the car's body on backwards. That is, the car is actually going forward (the driver is basically sitting near where the trunk is) and it just looks like it's going backwards.

Jumping sticks are a very thin type of grasshopper (family Proscopiidae). They look remarkably like stick insects, until up close you see they have jumping legs like a grasshopper and this noble visage, which is unmistakably grasshoppery, if a grasshopper went through a taffy-pulling machine. (Brazil)

A tiny little jumping spider, smaller than a pea, so not too scary for me to get close to. I think the species is heliophanus, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Pelegrina, I think. Natural settings are ideal, but the hood of a car can make an interesting photo...
