It is being said that a picture is worth a thousand words and it is very true statement, however what if you put thousands of pictures together ? Here are two videos that I put together from several weeks in Iceland, those sleepless nights spent in freezing temperatures in unique Icelandic landscape were surely worth it.
Timelapse movies had become my new way of capturing my travels besides regular photography. Check out these latest one :
► POLAR NIGHT WITH NORTHERN LIGHT & MOON ECLIPSE IN ARCTIC NORWAY
or
► NORTHERN LIGHTS BEYOND ARCTIC CIRCLE, SWEDEN
► ARCTIC NIGHT & NORTHERN LIGHTS OVER FROZEN SWEDEN
I had the incredible luck to experience once in a life time Northern lights show created by huge Solar storm which brought unseen colors ranging from the usual green, yellow to red, purple or even blue, to the sky all over Nordic countries and even all the way to the south of UK. Add several other lucky nights with smaller or large Aurora Borealis appearance in unique landscape of Iceland and the result is relatively lot of footage for my first ever time-lapse video.
Europe - Scandinavia - Norway - North of the Arctic Circle - Nordland county - Lofoten islands archipelago - Moskenes - Hamnoy - Hamnøy - Picturesque fishing village under fresh cover of snow during winter time - Aurora borealis - Northern light - Produced by solar wind particles guided by Earth's field lines to the top of the atmosphere

Europe - Portugal - Região Centro - Central Region - Monsanto - Stunning Medieval Mountaintop Portuguese village build in and around gigantic 200-tonne boulders at 2486feet above sea level
This was certainly one of the most special places I've ever been. The whole village built among those giant boulders. It truly felt like a hobbit town just perfect for filming Lord of the rings movies.

Henry Whitehead Place
Cade's Cove
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Townsend, TN
06-06-25
The Henry Whitehead Place consists of two cabins. The one in back was built in 1881 and the "newer" one in front from 1895-98 as his family grew. I wondered why the two are so close together, seemingly out in the middle of nowhere, and even a few miles off the "Cade's Cove Loop" road which joins most of the other historic cabins in the area.
From the National Parks website: The Henry Whitehead place stands alone today, but during its occupation, homes lined Forge Creek Road. There were other large sawed-log houses built by Frederick Shields and James V. Cable, but unfortunately, these buildings were not preserved.

This shot could be just one more lovely sunrise/sunset photo in my long series of such shots, however there is something special about it - the time - taken at 1AM ! I have already experienced those long days during summer months in Iceland, however there the sun actually sets for few hours (creating several hours long "blue hour"). The Inari lake is even more to the North (way above the arctic circle), the sun never sets there from end of May to end of July. This shot was taken during my first night of the day that never ended. Finding a good location to capture it, was not so straight forward as I was hoping, but I was lucky to find this wooden walkway that was pointing directly to the North ! It is difficult to say when the sunset stops and the sunrise starts, but I guess the midnight is the breaking point. the sky like this can last for several hours... well meaning that you have similar conditions.. Yet again luck was on my side as there was quite heavy storm and lot of rain behind me but I still managed to take photos for about an hour and then I had to be holding the umbrella above the camera again.. !!!

Europe - Hungary - Magyarország - Budapest - Capital City - UNESCO World Heritage Site - Hungarian Parliament Building - Seat of the National Assembly of Hungary on eastern banks of River Danube - Iconic famous Hungarian landmark during winter time with floating ice on Dunaj river
I traveled to Budapest for the rare sight of floating ice on Danube river, which is something very unique to see in most European capitals. It somehow became some kind of mystery, because when I checked webcams facing Danube river in Bratislava (which is also situated on this famous European river prior to Budapest) there was not a single piece of ice, during all this time when it was floating through Budapest (for about 2-3 weeks). I tried to ask locals for explanation but they seemed to be equally confused as they assumed (as I did) that the ice floats through various cities, including Bratislava or Vienna, before reaching Budapest.
So for now, my take on it is, that Budapest is located on border with Antarctica or Greenland or there is a ice factory just on the border of the capital and it occasionally (once in 5-10 years) produces these giant pieces of ice as a rare tourist attraction ;)))
Unfortunately I was too late to arrive to this "Ice Bonanza" as I was traveling in Oman prior to that. Ice started to melt the next day after my arrival therefore I didnt get that many chances to capture this unique sight.

During my trip in Iceland I took the opportunity to visit beautiful places.
A few hours before the sunset I headed to Vestrahorn, one of Iceland's most photogenic mountain that rise on a lagoon next to the sea.
Since the wind was calmer, a great reflection was visible on the water.
I made a panoramic shot during the last sunrays, that were tinging the mountain with red shades.

Cabo Carvoeiro is located over the Atlantic Ocean, in Peniche (Leiria, Portugal). It represents a place of great value, with a wide variety of calcarian cliffs, highly eroded and field of "lapiás". It is one of the most western points of Portugal (in the Continent), north the Cabo da Roca. Here the lighthouse of Cabo Carvoeiro was built, 25 mts of height, due to the numerous ship wrecks that used to occur around this place.

The 25 de Abril Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril "25th of April Bridge") is a suspension bridge connecting the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal, to the municipality of Almada on the left (south) bank of the Tejo river. It was inaugurated on August 6, 1966 and a train platform was added in 1999. Because of its similar coloring, it is often compared to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA. In fact, it was built by the same company (American Bridge Company) that constructed the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and not the Golden Gate, also explaining its similarity in design. With a total length of 2,277 m, it is the 20th largest suspension bridge in the world. The upper platform carries six car lanes, the lower platform two train tracks. Until 1974, the bridge was named Salazar Bridge (Ponte Salazar).
After those very colorful photos, I thought I post one that has nearly no color. It was very foggy afternoon with some rain as well, definitely not a weather I would expect to see in mid August, however I really like the result of this shot.

Dear ANDORE Customer,
Today, I’m announcing the official closure of the ANDORE brand.
Six years ago, the world of Second Life welcomed a new creative venture — ANDORE. What began as a modest collection of ear & accessories quickly grew into something far greater than I could have ever anticipated. I was genuinely moved by the warmth and enthusiasm with which you embraced my designs. Your support, passion, and love for my creations have meant the world to me.
Throughout the years, I have worked tirelessly to bring you joy through fresh ideas and thoughtful design. However, as time went on, the brand became closely — and almost exclusively — associated with ears. While this recognition is an honor, it has also limited the broader creative vision I hold for the future.
As I observed other brands evolve and diversify, it became clear to me that ANDORE is capable of much more. It is more than just one product or a single aesthetic—it holds the potential to grow, expand, and inspire in new ways. And for that to happen, change is necessary.
It is time for a transformation.
In order to breathe life into something new, we must first let go of the old. For this reason, the ANDORE group will be closed to new members, and the in-world store will be temporarily unavailable. Existing products will be gradually transferred to the Marketplace, and eventually removed from the in-world location.
However, this is not a final farewell. ANDORE is simply stepping away to return renewed—reborn with a fresh identity, a new vision, and reimagined ideas.
As for the beloved ear accessories—fear not. I am excited to announce the creation of a separate brand: LEX.
LEX will carry forward the legacy of ANDORE’s signature ears and jewelry, while expanding into new areas of body customization. The new group for LEX will be available to join free of charge until April 15th, after which a fee will apply. A link to the new group will be included in the post description and shared within the ANDORE group announcements.
I wish to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has supported ANDORE over the years. Your loyalty, creativity, and enthusiasm have been a constant source of inspiration.
Thank you for being part of this journey—and thank you in advance to those who will join me as I continue this next chapter with LEX.
With heartfelt appreciation, ArtemZgursky
Creator of ANDORE & LEX

This near-perfect beach was considered one of Europe's best by The Sunday Times, and ranked number two in The Independent's list of top 10 Portugal beaches. Close to Sintra, and just 15km (9miles) north of Guincho, it is wedged between tall cliffs and has clean blue waters. It is no longer a secret and gets its number of sunbathers, but beyond the cliffs there is plenty of space and seclusion.
It is always so great to shoot at stunning location as Adraga beach near Colares is, however trouble always is to pick one or two from the series of great shots you make. Weather was very changeable and rather misty, mysterious and wild at the same time. Portugal is blessed with such a dramatic coast that is a joy to visit and photograph.

Northern Africa - Kingdom of Morocco - Marrakesh - Marrakech - UNESCO World Heritage Site - Old Town - Medina of Marrakesh - Historical center - Ben Youssef Mosque next to Medersa Ben Youssef - Mosque Bin Yousuf - Ben Youssef Mosque - Ibn Yusuf Mosque
Marrakech's Medina, the old city, now a UNESCO World Heritage site is a magical labyrinthine of alleys within its ancient city walls. It is extremely busy town at nearly any time of the day, so one of the more enjoyable ways to experience is from its countless rooftop terraces.
Marrakech's old city town is relatively flat with mostly just mosque minarets breaking the relatively even cityscape. Its most iconic locations is probably the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa (Djema el-Fna/ Djemaa el-Fnaa) one of main cultural spaces & one of the symbols of the city. Towering over the whole of the Medina, Koutoubia Mosque is the highest point in Marrakech. If you are lucky, you can see the mighty High Atlas Mountains on the horizon, which creates great contrast to the palm trees and ancient walls.

I joined Friends of Photography Meetup for some evening fun shooting the sunset and Milky Way at Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero, CA. I was a little concerned about the clouds and marine layer as we were driving down, but things held out nicely and I was able to do my first Milky Way Shoot. I stacked my images using Sequator and I am glad I did. There was a big difference in quality between using the stacking software and just using the individual photo. I'm sure with practice I'll get a little better. I also used my nisi reverse NDG filter for the sunset photo. This filter is quickly becoming my favorite.

WHAT IS WABI-SABI?
www.nobleharbor.com/tea/chado/WhatIsWabi-Sabi.htm
"Wabi-sabi is underplayed and modest, the kind of quiet, undeclared beauty that waits patiently to be discovered. It's a fragmentary glimpse: the branch representing the entire tree, shoji screens filtering the sun, the moon 90 percent obscured behind a ribbon of cloud. It's a richly mellow beauty that's striking but not obvious."

Europe - UK - United Kingdom - Scotland - Western Isles of Scotland - Outer Hebrides - Isle of Lewis - Island's West Coast - Callanish Standing Stones - Standing Stones of Challanish (Calanais or Chalanais in Gaelic) - One of the most spectacular megalithic sites in Scotland at Dusk - Twilight - Blue Hour
We all have those special places we always wanted to visit, Callanish Stone Circle was definitely on top of my list of such places. As you can guess, no visit to Scotland comes for free and weather can be at its most playfull.... as it was for last 3 days - near gale wind and constant drizzle, which is so famous for these islands but nothing should stop very devoted photographer from capturing what he/she had in mind... and therefore the gale and drizzle didnt stop us from taking photos at this unique location - that is also explanation for the EXIF data... I would have much rather used ISO 100, f11 and 30 sec but than the lens would get way too many drops... and I might have been blown away with the camera and tripod ;)... still despite those conditions I'm really pleased with the result ;)
