Jim Langlas with his group of Tae Kwon-do students, marching in Warrenville's Fourth-of-July parade. (I would have been marching with Troop 514.) Mr. Langlas taught English and Tae Kwon-do at Wheaton Warrenville High School (himself being a world-ranked black belt). I'm guessing this photo was taken in the summer of 1982, just before I joined the club during my sophomore year. (Dad probably took this photo more out of curiosity than anything else.) Check the bike helmet!

Poor Jim! See Jim change a tire. See Jim get a flat tire on the same tire later in that ride. See Jim ride flat tire back to camp.
Jim also went on a ride earlier in the week. His bike broke down and he had to ride Alex's bike back and Alex rode tandem with his father back to camp. They had to go back the next day to fix and retrieve his bike.
It’s a family joke how much of a Jim Spencer fanboy I am. Amazing weatherman who built an awesome team to carry on his legacy. I won’t watch any other weather than KXAN

Guest drivers Jim McCabe and Dave Schreiner were active in the Midwest dirt late model scene in the 70s. Now they are reunited as a team and Mac Miller is just about through with their Watson Replica Roadster. It was a pleasure to have them take the car for a session each and look forward to their being on track with their creation at the end of the year.
