Jim Morrison's not so perfect nose might be the photographic evidence that he is still alive.

Monday Night Raw - Buffalo NY - Dec. 17th 2007

Jim Knopf/Jim Button, the hero of the story.

The Jim Thompson trail starts where the Jordan Trail ends, at a dirt road just north of Uptown. From there the trail ascends and passes miles of red rock formations, including the 'shark fin.' A steep and difficult hike to be sure, but well worth it.

Jim Riley, left, and his 1921 Vancouver Beaver teammate Bruck. Riley is one of the more intriguing characters to have played for the Victoria Aristocrats hockey club. Riley was 20 when he joined Lester Patrick's Aristocrats for the 1915-16 season, scoring 4 goals in his dozen Aristocrats games.

Riley played just the one season in Victoria, moving across Juan de Fuca Strait to Seattle the following year. He flourished in Seattle, was a four-time all-star in his seven seasons with the Metropolitans, won a Stanley Cup in 1917, and scored 23 goals in 24 games in the 1920-21 campaign.

Jim Riley was as productive in baseball spikes as he was in ice skates. In 1921 he batted a solid .303 with the Vancouver Beavers of the Pacific Coast International League. The Bayfield NB native batted .294 over nine seasons in baseball's minor leagues before making it to 'The Show', where in 1921 and '23 he briefly played major league baseball with the St Louis Browns and Washington Senators of the American League.

Eventually Riley would play in the major league of hockey too, with both Chicago and Detroit of the NHL, 1926-27.

In early 1918 Jim Riley took a break from playing games to join a much greater contest: he was conscripted under Canada's Military Service Act and went overseas as a soldier in the Canadian Expeditionary Force.

Jim Riley was inducted in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame in the year 2000.

Jim Brady was at one time the only man working on the Lutyens designed RC Cathedral in Liverpool. The outbreak of WW2 meant all the older men got called up. They never built the original design, it would have been bigger than St Peters in Rome, and finally erected a super-modern concrete version. However they allowed us to bury his ashes in the priests garden (in a pottery container with dancing women on it) and place a bench there. This year we renovated the bench and finally it was returned with all the pomp we could find.

"I’ve had a lot of requests to do a Rapunzel from the Disney movie Tangled. (Plus I loved that movie too, saw it with grandkids!) Here’s a first sketch that I’ve been working on. It may need a little tweaking but I’m liking it a lot so far. Let me know what you think. If everything works out she should be available later this year."

Jim, our electrician, came over to check out the track lighting on our ceiling...two of the lights are broken. We have to get more or go with less light. Hmmmmmm

The yeasty air around a distillery is perfect for a fine black mold that grows harmlessly on many surfaces. The black trees were a give-away of bootleggers during Prohibition.

A Day on the Green Concert at Villa Maria Vineyard with Simple Minds, Devo and The Church. I was lucky enough to get a press pass to take some close up shots. An awesome day/night with these brilliant bands.

I was quite torn between chilling out and enjoying the sounds of my teen years, or snapping away like a lunatic. Madness prevailed.
