Java went to Heaven yesterday (2/4/08) - - - - - (Java with his toys during a playtime, photo taken 1/23/08)
I helped Java find a new home quite a few years ago. It has been a pleasure to get to know his wonderful family as friends.
What a handsome big guy Java was. He lived a long, happy, fun-filled and very contented life. He was treated like the Prince that he was. He wanted for nothing.... well, except always "more cookies, please, mom"! :) From sharing popcorn on the couch with mom to having his very own bedroom.... what a spoiled boy he was (the way it should be!). He had a wonderful Borzoi smile and an uncanny sense of love and humor that will live on in the many wonderful memories of his family.
Java is deeply missed by both his family and me.
He will live on in our hearts forever.
Run with the wind, Java....

I Haven’t Left At All
I saw you gently weeping as you looked through photographs;
You paused for just a moment at one that made you laugh.
But as you turned more pages, the tears began to flow.
You whispered that you missed me but I want you to know;
I softly licked those stinging tears that down your cheeks did fall
I want to help you understand I haven’t left at all.
On days that you are overcome with sorrow, pain and grief,
I rest my head upon your leg to offer some relief.
And when you take our walking path I’ve seen you turn around;
I know you surely heard my paws upon the ground.
At night while you are sleeping, I snuggle at your side;
You stroke my fur as you touch that place where I used to lie.
You say it’s just your heart playing tricks upon your mind
But rest assured I’m really there, my spirit’s stayed behind.
I know your heart is hurting; it’s like an open sore
You think my life has ended and you won’t see me anymore.
But for those of us bound tight by love, death is not the curtain call;
It’s really the eternal beginning that waits for us all.
So, dear Master, live your life as I patiently wait
For us to be together when you pass through Heaven’s gate.

A beautiful bird in the Penang Bird Park in a very pleasing beige- brown colour is the Java Sparrow. He was one difficult chap to capture as he was hyperactive, hopping up and down and about the cage and the tree branch. The Java Sparrow, also known as Java Finch, Java Rice Sparrow or Java Rice Bird, is a small passerine bird. This attractive bird is a resident breeding bird in Java, Bali and Bawean in Indonesia. It is a popular cage bird, and has been introduced in a large number of other countries. A picture of a white version of this bird appears later on in this album. (Butterworth, Penang, Nov. 2013)
