Ok so story time....
I titled this shot Java Alley because it is right next to Theo's Java Club. Which is my favorite coffee shop in my home town. What a boring story right? Well that's not really the story. No one I know actually calls this Java Alley. No we call it "The Piss Alley". You see that wet stain on the concrete? That's a perpetual state.
This little alley and said coffee shop are part of the local entertainment district. We call it "The District" Clever huh? There are a lot of bars in The District" And if stand around this spot at 3ish in the morning you'll get to see some one peeing there. If it's a Saturday night and you're real lucky you might get to see a couple of assholes fighting for the right to pee there.
That's it that's my story. One day when I get a better camera that can handle night shooting better I'm going to go back home and take a series of shots of this alley living up to it's name. Look for it.

Een mooie boottocht gemaakt van Kali naar Peucang. Vroeg in de ochtend vertrek. Veel te zien varen langs de mangrove. Veel vissers langs en op het water. En bij Peucang een industriële haven. Opvallend weinig vogels gezien in dit mooie waterrijke gebied.
Het enige wat tegenviel was dat de bankjes hard waren en de motor veel geluid maakte! Maar het mooie landschap compenseerde dat. Een van onze 2 boten had motor pech! Kwamen een uur later binnen. Opgepikt en mee gelift met een andere boot.
Dat is het mooie hier in Indonesië iedereen helpt elkaar!

Het meest indrukwekkende natuurverschijnsel dat ik ooit heb meegemaakt was hier op de Bromo vulkaan, midden Java (Indonesië).
We moesten heel vroeg het bed uit om naar de rand van de vulkaan te klimmen om vandaar een prachtige zonsopgang te bekijken.
Boven keek je in de diepte naar een oranje kolkende en vooral stinkende massa. Met de lucht van rottende eieren en het onheilspellend geluid van deze kookpot was het een ervaring waar ik de rest van je leven wel mee vooruit kan. Heftiger wordt het niet.
We moesten ook op tijd weer terug want overdag verspreiden giftige dampen zich in de vallei en dan is het daar heel ongezond. Deze foto heb ik gemaakt toen de "excursie" afgelopen was en ik weer veilig in het hotel/pension was aangekomen.
