June 6th canoe camping trip on the James

On the way home from Busch Gardens, we stopped and saw two plantation homes on the James River.

This old pier originally held an old covered bridge, which was burnt in the

Civil War, then a new steel highway bridge, until the concrete bridge was

built in 1937, it was then used until now for a suspension pedestrian bridge. Come on down and enjoy a

walk across it, lots of fun.
