This was an old car at the ACD musuem in Auburn, IN. It wasn't in the best condition. The paint was cracking, there was oil leaking onto the floor and the engine was showing signs of age. But it was very interesting to see the car not perfectly restored and showing signs of wear and tear.

Mumbai, India, out and about Day 2

The "Rah! Rah!" car was photographed in front of the Sigma Chi house on State Street. The kid with the camera was so excited he couldn't hold still. His life passed in a blur -- he grew old, and now he is gone.

95% there, should probably put more thought into cable routing....;-)

kinda looks like the wheely hobo's ride, but I dunno.

can there be more than one modified wheelchair home on wheels in this city?

Beverly Hillbillies Jalopy complete with Grandma.

Located in the Hollywood Star Cars Museum in Gatlinburg TN.

This is a genuine gangster looking car and building if I ever saw one. The license plate dates it antique as 1932. Just waiting on a gentleman with a machine gun to come and start its engine or fire off a round or two.

Is it a 1932 Plymouth?

Does anyone else remember this website? No trace of it now on the internet (not that I can access anyway), but I recall some 10+ years ago they ran ad's for cheaper cars.

I think when a car was listed with them the vendor received stickers to put it on it, I presume the idea being that anyone interested would then look at the website to find details of it. I recall a BMW 5-Series that had one on. This sticker has ended up on the back of a road sign on the A140 on the border between Norfolk and Suffolk and I'm pretty sure there is another one locally on the back of another sign.

Edit: Thanks to a couple of people on Autoshite, here's a link to an archive listing for the site web.archive.org/web/20081220133343/http://www.jalopies.co...

All rights reserved. Please do not use without permission. I think this series of shots needs an explanation of sorts. I am by nature a landscape photographer, but every year we have this very nice little event in our little town called the Function for Junction which is car show and cruise for charity. When I see photos taken by others of the event, they are invariably your classic car photos of either the parked display cars in the morning or of the driven cars in the evening. My feeling is the cars are the stars. And there is no way you can take a photo of just the car. There will be people walking by in the background and if you like to take bracketed shots like I do, you will have five different shots with five different sets of background people.

So my artistic decision on these shots is to set off the cars by either removing the background or by doing a motion or some other type of blur. That is what is done in this case. Obviously a driver-less car is not actually moving; I'm not going for realism here. I just want an adequate background to showcase the beauty of the vehicle. I like the results of these shots and hope you do too.

I don't know the year, but once again I'm sure one of my wise contacts will know. There was nobody around to ask when I found this rusted gem. Thanks in advance!

Culled from an old magazine article from May 1955. The magazine is just called "Illustrated" on the page headers so guessing "Illustrated News". So two young brothers build their own design of sports car from scratch at their family's garage and get some press coverage for it. Unfortunately the article goes across two pages and the middle 15mm or so is missing so impossible to join up the photo which goes across the pages without a ton of work - couldn't face it!

Want to go for a ride anyone? I'm into classic cars but not quite this old. This was fun.
