Stop Colon Cancer Now is an initiative of AmSurg Corporation to increase colon cancer screenings and prevention as part of its commitment to provide the highest level of care and information to people at risk. More than 700 member physicians have joined forces with AmSurg to promote, educate and raise awareness about colon cancer through this national public awareness campaign.
DVL developed a cohesive look to the campaign and consistent messaging to incorporate into all materials and strategies. Based on client feedback that some humor would play well with all audiences, previous themes have included “No Butts About It. Colonoscopy Saves Lives.” and “Heart Ur :”.
As part of the campaign, DVL utilized digital outreach, event sponsorship, physician engagement and media relations to educate consumers and physicians about the importance of colonoscopy. In 2012, DVL helped AmSurg launch the first ever National Colon Cancer Screening Day as the centerpiece of the campaign to engage centers and partner physicians across the county and get 1,000 first-time patients screened.
As a result of the campaign, Stop Colon Cancer Now’s goal for National Colon Cancer Screening Day 2012 was exceeded, and plans are underway for the second National Colon Cancer Screening Day in 2013.
