Remembering this week is Jacaranda Week in my old home town of Grafton . This specimen is holing up well in the north in Queensland , the heat at 39 degrees .. lovely to see . Lots of fond memories from the past when I see these beautiful trees in bloom .

So many people say "Oh look how beautiful the Jacaranda are" but I want to tell you how big a pain in the ass these trees are. The flowers fall all over the place. They stick to your car. The leaves fall with little twigs that have to be raked up. And they drop this black dust that makes a mess. But, they are beautiful, when they're blooming.

The Jacaranda trees in Brisbane have now bloomed and it was a common sight to see footpaths and driveways covered with the violet blooms. This capture of the blooms on chip wood in early morning light caught my eye.

Jacaranda trees are often used to line streets in Central African cities. The blossoms are an elusive blue, a cross between mauve and perriwinkle, which many say is difficult to catch on film, though in this digital age perhaps things have changed.

Not sure I've got it here but its what I can manage after a busy day.

 

I love flowers in groups of random castings, as if some browinian motion of the universe caused them to dance together. :-)

 

I have become the focuser of energies. ;-)
