I was going to start off with DSL (Damn Small Linux), but the CD I had written was a duff. I went for Ubuntu 7.04 instead - which boots in approx 2 minutes until I know how to turn a few more things off.

The machine needed surgery.... after a HD change the thing won't even POST!
