La integración del procesador VIA Nano contribuye a dotar de numerosas ventajas, destacando soporte de software de 64 bit, arquitectura superescalar de elevado rendimiento y compatibilidad con las últimas tecnologías de virtualización para servidores de próxima generación y máquinas virtuales.

VIA EPIA-P820: pequeña, pero potente
Con unas dimensiones de 10 x 7.2 cm, la tarjeta VIA EPIA-P820 ultra compacta soporta 2 GB de memoria de sistema DDR2 e integra un procesador VIA Nano U2500 de 1.2 GHz de elevado rendimiento y bajo consumo para ofrecer a los desarrolladores la plataforma Pico-ITX más potente hasta la fecha.
La tarjeta VIA EPIA-P802 se caracteriza por el VIA VX855 Media System Processor ‘todo en uno’, que ha sido diseñado especialmente para dotar de aceleración de hardware a los nuevos códecs de vídeo HD, como H.264, WMV, VC1 y MPEG 2/4, con elevados ratios de bit y resoluciones de display de hasta 1080p con mínima utilización de la CPU. El núcleo gráfico integrado VIA Chrome9™ HCM 3D, por su parte, se distingue por soporte total DirectX 9.0 y un motor 2D de 128 bit con capacidad de rotación de hardware.
Este nuevo modelo Pico-ITX también emplea una tarjeta ‘add-on’ I/O que complementa al puerto HDMI y añade un puerto VGA, un puerto Gigabit LAN y dos puertos USB 2.0. El códec de audio HD VIA Vinyl posee audio DTS de seis canales con soporte S/PDIF, mientras que el almacenamiento se lleva a cabo en forma de conector IDE de 44 pines onboard y un puerto S-ATA. Los ‘pin headers’ soportan cuatro puertos USB 2.0 adicionales, un conector LPC, conector SMBus, PS/2, tomas de audio, LVDS, cuatro pares de DIO y dos puertos UART.
VIA AMOS-3001: sólido, silencioso y potente
El VIA AMOS-3001 ha sido desarrollado para ofrecer soporte a la tarjeta Pico-ITX VIA EPIA-P820. El HDMI nativo es respaldado con un puerto VGA y varios puertos USB a través de una tarjeta hija.
Este chasis, que mide 15 x 4.6 x 10.8 cm, se distingue por un rango de temperatura operativa de -20 a +70 °C, tolerancia a la vibración de hasta 7 Grms, resistencia al choque de hasta 70 G e indicadores LED para controlar la potencia y la actividad HDD del sistema.
El VIA AMOS-3001 también se encuentra disponible con la tarjeta VIA EPIA-P720, contando en este caso con el procesador VIA Eden ULV de 1 GHz.
