It's over now! I'm out of here! Dad will pick me up in 7 min and give me a ride to the airport. I'll escape from the dark rainy winter and go to Brazil for 2 1/2 weeks. Have a nice time all of you who're left!
The 10-day Lilac Festival ended yesterday and I walked on over there to see if things were returning to normal. As you can see, there was even a guy cleaning the street where dozens of food vendors were located.
As you can also see, there are still plenty of attractive lilacs available for viewing I always have the feeling the week before and the week after the festival that the people that are there at those times are there because they appreciate the beauty of the blossoms and not because they crave food and entertainment. Keep your eye on the "noted" box. What's there will be seen below....
NO INVITES OR ICONS PLEASE
"You're still here? It's over. Go home. Go."
That's it, folks. From 12/12/2008 to 12/12/2009 in self-portraits. Some were better than others, some were more creative than others, but there was one every day for a year. In a way, no matter how I feel about the work, it's a look into my life, the good, the bad and the in-between, for the span of a single year. Not the best year, or the worst, just another year.
In the end, the 365 Day Project did for me what I wanted it to do; namely, it made me pick up my camera every single day for a year. Whether I felt like it or not, whether I felt creative or not, I had made the commitment to take a self-portrait, so I did it.
I have to admit, I feel a bit relieved now that it's over. But, I feel the void, too. I'm going to take a little time off and sort of purge of my creative system, then I'll be off looking for another creative, photographic, artistic project.
And, finally, thanks to everyone who came along on this ride with me. I hope you'll come back when I start with whatever's next.
