It Gets Better...In East Lothian was an event held on 23rd February 2012 in Haddington Town House. The evening featured speakers Councillor John McNeil and John Naples-Campbell and his students from Telford College. An award-winning film by Knox Academy was shown and the Loud and Proud Choir performed.The event was organised by the East Lothian Diversity Network and East Lothian Council Museums Service.

The Rainbow Resource Centre hosted a rally to raise awareness around the impact of homophobic bullying. In the few weeks previous, several students had committed suicide as a result of homophobic bullying.
As a community, we need to say that this is not acceptable and send a message of hope to queer youth in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, North America and around the world. It gets ...better and there is hope.
