Tree clearance at University is well underway prior to the stations rebuilding. 57310 Pride in Cumbria drifts through with 350101 in tow working 5Q91 Long Marston to Northampton EMD. Unusual to get anything loco hauled along this section these days but the Desiro units are now not cleared via Moseley Tunnel following re-ballasting.

The Namibian authorities have made several arrests and issued public statements that revealing clothing on women are rape provoking and not culturally of an African decent. (say what???..)
Women to be arrested in Namibia for wearing mini-skirts..
Most Namibian's, naturally, are outraged and have already staged a protest and it has gone viral on facebook.
As Alan pointed out, Namibia is already considered to be amongst the top 10 most miserable countries in the world and now they want to control women's dress.....
Well, it has been a fun week. :)
I photographed Lynn agains a black and white backdrop and we dressed her accordingly. The alignment is not 100%, but i was pretty pleased with the funky graphic look.

-At Fant's apartment, two weeks after the Neon incident-
Alright, so I'm in the Top 5. This is where it gets tough. You can't just stick to beating up small-time thugs and low-level threats and still expect to get past 5th. I need to step my game up even more. The question is how?
"I need an expert's opinion. Maybe I could ask Captain Beam! I mean, he is at number 2 on the Hero Board...aaand I'm talking to myself again."
After a couple minutes of searching the internet, I find Beam's phone number and call him to ask for some tips.
"Hey, Beam, this is Matchstick. I was wondering if you have any tips on how to rank up past 5 on the leaderboard?"
B: "Sure, you just gotta...take out those bad guys! And, um, save...people!"
"Wow...that was so helpful, but I was kind of hoping for something a little more specific?"
B: "Well, uh, you know. Hero things! Alright, I gotta go. Baddies to beat, people to save. Hero stuff. Good luck, kid."
"You basically just repeated everything you already said, but alright. Thanks, I guess."
A couple moments of awkward silence pass before he hangs up.
"Well, that was weird."
I go out around town to try to find some hero work to do. I'm wandering around one of the poorer neighborhood apartment complexes, when I start to hear screaming and see the smoke in the air. I run about a block down the street and see one of the two-story buildings on fire.
There's a grown lady at the upstairs window crying and wailing desperately for someone to help her. I blast off the ground and propel myself up and over to the building. The woman sees me approaching and backs away from the window and into the room, so I can enter.
Just as I'm about to be at the window, I get blasted in the back. I fall to the ground, the impact causing the back of my head snap onto the concrete a little bit.
Dazed, and vision blurry, I see a purple costumed figure run into the building, and only moments later, come back out with the woman in his arms.
?: "Are you okay, ma'am?"
Woman: "I am now. Thank you so much, Captain Beam."
CAPTAIN BEAM?! As I start regaining my vision, he's putting her down, then looks over his shoulder, and makes direct eye contact with me, then gives a smug look and walks away.
"What a poser!"
Woman: "How dare you talk about a top-ranking hero like that! You should be ashamed of yourself!"
"I was about to save you, and he blasted me in the back!"
Woman: "Now, why would such a nice man do something like that?"
I was just wondering the same thing...

Multi-span bridges are structures of two or more arches supported on piers. They were constructed throughout the medieval period for the use of pedestrians and packhorse or vehicular traffic, crossing rivers or streams, often replacing or supplementing earlier fords.
During the early medieval period timber was used, but from the 12th century stone (and later brick) bridges became more common, with the piers sometimes supported by a timber raft. Most stone or brick bridges were constructed with pointed arches, although semicircular and segmental examples are also known. A common medieval feature is the presence of stone ashlar ribs underneath the arch. The bridge abutments and revetting of the river banks also form part of the bridge. Where medieval bridges have been altered in later centuries, original features are sometimes concealed behind later stonework, including remains of earlier timber bridges. The roadway was often originally cobbled or gravelled. The building and maintenance of bridges was frequently carried out by the church and by guilds, although landowners were also required to maintain bridges. From the mid-13th century the right to collect tolls, known as pontage, was granted to many bridges, usually for repairs; for this purpose many urban bridges had houses or chapels on them, and some were fortified with a defensive gateway. Medieval multi-span bridges must have been numerous throughout England, but most have been rebuilt or replaced and less than 200 examples are now known to survive. As a rare monument type largely unaltered, surviving examples and examples that retain significant medieval and post-medieval fabric are considered to be of national importance.
Despite some later alterations and repair work, Aylesford Bridge is a well preserved medieval multi-span bridge. It is a good example of its type and will retain evidence relating to medieval bridge construction and masonry techniques. Deposits buried underneath the bridge will preserve valuable artefactual, ecofactual and environmental evidence, providing information about the human and natural history of the site prior to the construction of the bridge.

This record was the subject of a minor enhancement on 15 December 2014. The record has been generated from an "old county number" (OCN) scheduling record. These are monuments that were not reviewed under the Monuments Protection Programme and are some of our oldest designation records.
The monument includes a medieval multi-span bridge situated over the River Medway at Aylesford.
Aylesford Bridge is constructed of Kentish ragstone with seven arches including a central segmental arch and six pointed and double-chamfered outer arches. The bridge is about 4m wide between the centres of the stone-coped parapet. The end arches are partly buried by the river bank. The stone piers have cutwaters on the upstream and downstream sides on rebuilt concrete foundations. On each side are octagonal and triangular canted pedestrian refuges resting on buttresses over the piers. Below the bridge is a barge-bed constructed from large baulks of timber.
Aylesford Bridge is thought to have been constructed in about the 14th century, and is situated downstream from the probable site of an earlier ford. A grant of pontage was issued in 1331, although it is possible that this relates to a timber predecessor. In about 1824, the two centre arches were replaced by a single arch of 18m span, removing a pier to allow passage for larger river traffic.
Aylesford Bridge is Grade I listed.

On the right -- this is the second of two loaves I made for different Thanksgiving parties. The first was cold fermented for 18hrs, and this loaf for 48hrs. It is a 70% hydration dough using bread flour only.
I am overall pleased with the results and the flavor was awesome, great acidity. I was worried it would be too sour after a long cold proof, but no issues there. Baked directly from the fridge.
I am looking to darken the crust, and have a bit more oven spring, this loaf seems on the flatter side. I also don't like how much flour is left on the dough from the banneton, looking for a way to reduce that.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseids are so-called because the point from which they appear to come, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Perseus. The name derives in part from the word Perseides, a term found in Greek mythology referring to the sons of Perseus.
The stream of debris is called the Perseid cloud and stretches along the orbit of the comet Swift-Tuttle. The cloud consists of particles ejected by the comet as it travels on its 133-year orbit. Most of the particles have been part of the cloud for around a thousand years. However, there is also a relatively young filament of dust in the stream that was pulled off the comet in 1865. The rate of meteors originating from this filament is much higher than for the older part of the stream.
The Perseid meteor shower has been observed for about 2,000 years, with the earliest information on this meteor shower coming from the Far East. Some Catholics refer to the Perseids as the "tears of St. Lawrence", since 10 August is the date of that saint's martyrdom.
The shower is visible from mid-July each year, with the peak in activity being between 9 and 14 August, depending on the particular location of the stream. During the peak, the rate of meteors reaches 60 or more per hour. They can be seen all across the sky, but because of the path of Swift-Tuttle's orbit, Perseids are primarily visible in the northern hemisphere. As with all meteor showers, the rate is greatest in the pre-dawn hours, since the side of the Earth nearest to turning into the sun scoops up more meteors as the Earth moves through space. Most Perseids disappear while at heights above 80 kilometres (50 mi).

[Location: Dr. Nimble's Evil Lair]
So, yeah. Nancy caught me off guard while I was… distracted. She's got this thing floating above me and now I'm stuck in this immobilizing ray while she monologues.
Dr. Nimble:"Fluxx, it seems you're little invasion failed. It was so predictable… And by that I mean completely unpredictable! What are you doing here?"
-Phillip stares at her flatly, unable to reply.-
Dr. Nimble:"Hm. Immobilization kind of ruins the whole nemesis banter thing. Noted. Let's see… I captured you, I monologued, what next?"
Jumping Jack:"He kicks your butt?"
That would be Nancy's son, Jack. He's a little… I don't want to say bratty, but…
-Nancy turns to her son, who's playing Zombie Mayhem 3 or some other gory game.-
Dr. Nimble:"Jack B. Nimble, don't talk to your mother that way."
Jack:"Whatever…"
-Jack goes back to violently slicing virtual zombies-
Dr. Nimble:"I don't know what I'm going to do with that boy... Anyway, what to do with this boy?"
-Nancy turns back to Philip and puts her hand on her chin.-
Dr. Nimble:"It's normally around this time that you escape. I guess I never did think this far ahead."
-Now it was Philip's turn to roll his eyes-
I can't believe I'm stuck like this. I need to find a way out before she gets any ideas. I need to do something! I need...
-Phillip sees a familiar, armored friend drop behind Nancy.-
I need a hero! (Ooh, I should listen to that song next time.)
Rongzero (Attempting a Ewan McGregor voice): "'Hello there.'"
-Nancy does a 180, surprised by Rongzero's sudden appearance-
Dr. Nimble:"Who are you?"
-Rongzero's shoulders droop and, even with the opaque visor, is clearly disappointed-
Rongzero:"No, you're supposed to say: 'General Kenobi'."
Jack:"*coughnerdcough*"
-Nancy looks Rongzero over with a raised eyebrow, wondering just what he was supposed to be.-
Dr. Nimble:"Are you... Fluxx's sidekick or something?"
Rongzero:"Seriously? I'm Rongzero. I'm a freakin' Flickr Fighter, c'mon!"
Dr. Nimble:"As if I have time to keep track of all of you... children. Aren't you a little short to be a superhero?"
Rongzero:"First: I'll have you know I'm seventeen. Second: No, no I am not."
-Rongzero fires a laser from his mask, destroying the immobilizer and freeing his friend-
Dr. Nimble:"Nooo!"
-Rongzero flies over to Philip and helps him off the floor-
Rongzero:"Watcha' doin?"
Fluxx:"Oh, you know, just regretfully facing the consequences of my own reckless decisions."
Rongzero:"Fun. Recur told me you came here, I figured you could use some backup."
Fluxx:“Just a little.”
Dr. Nimble:"You'll pay for that! Jack, take care of these pests!"
Jack:"Do I have to? I'm kinda' in the middle of something here."
Dr. Nimble:"What did we talk about?"
Fluxx:"Didn't you tell him that if he wanted to have a rival he had to take care of him?"
Dr. Nimble:"Exactly! See, Jack, why can't you be more like your nemesis?"
-Jack just rolls his eyes, ignoring his mother.-
I'm telling you, that kid's got an attitude overload.
Dr. Nimble:"I'll straighten him out later. But, first! You will pay for your intrusion!"
-With exaggerated movements Nancy pulls a remote from her labcoat and dramatically presses a big red button on it. Philip and Rongzero put on their game-faces and prepare to fight. But all that happens is the monitor behind Nancy activates, displaying static. Surprising everyone, including Nancy.-
Rongzero:"Uh… Was that supposed to happen?"
Dr. Nimble:"I could've sworn that was the right button..."
-Nancy presses several other buttons only to end up toggling lights on and off, opening and closing doors and resetting the VCR. At one point, she momentarily activated the lair's self-destruct sequence-
Dr. Nimble:"Sorry about this, I keep forgetting to label the buttons on this thing. If you could just stand there while I figure this out, that'd be great."
-Philip and Rongzero exchange a look, followed by Philip nodding towards the exit. Nancy is too busy messing with the remote to notice the two of them silently float away. Jack does notice, but is too apathetic to speak up.-
Perfect, we'll just slip away like nothing happened.
-Right as they approach the door, two drones whiz in front of it, blocking their path.-
Dr. Nimble:"Found it."
-Before you could even say "Holy automatons, Batman!" the room was full of Nancy's robots. Attack robots, like the ones Phil already faced, clanked into the room by the dozens. Drones buzzed in from openings in the ceiling. Pretty soon Philip and Rongzero had enough laser sights targeting them to light them up like a couple of poorly-decorated Christmas Trees.-
Fluxx:"That's a lot of guns."
Rongzero:"Yup."
Fluxx:"Think we can take 'em."
Rongzero:"You go low, I'll go high."
Fluxx:"Cool. Want to listen to some music while we beat 'em up."
Rongzero:"You just read my mind."
-Philip slowly reached into his pocket to restart his MP3 player while Rongzero synced his helmet to it. (A lot more convenient than sharing earbuds)-
Dr. Nimble:"You think you can defeat the full force of my robots? Ha! Don't make me laugh maniacally. They were built for combat! Built by the greatest scientific genius in the world! Me. And if you--Oh, look at that, they already started."
-While Nancy fell into her monologuing habits, the two boys had already gotten to work gleefully dismantling robots. All to the tune of some high-energy video game soundtracks.-
🎶To-GETHER we can show the world what we can do! You are next to me and I'm next to you! Pushing on through until the battle's woooon!🎶
If this isn't an awesome team-up song, I don't know what is.
-Sparks, laser bolts and metal scraps fly all over the place as the two duke it out with the robot army. A shrunken Rongzero ricochets like a bullet from drone the drone, destroying them one by one. Meanwhile, Phil pulls more of the same stunts as before, ramming and kicking the bots into submission.-
Rongzero:"Are these the toughest bots you have? I could take on all these clankers at once!"
He's not wrong, we're kicking some robot chassis right now. This should be a breeze!
Dr. Nimble:"You deadbolts! I know I programmed you better than that! Fine. Whichever of you wastes of wiring defeats these heroes gets to be Robot Drone of the Month!"
-Being Robot Drone of the Month is quite prestigious. Not only do you get your picture on the wall and a reserved parking space, you also get a free coupon for Ed's car wash with all the works. This seems to fill the robots with some newfound determination.-
Rongzero:"Now what? I'm not sure if we can keep this up."
Fluxx:"You may be right, but how can we stop them without fighting them?"
-There’s a moment of silence. Well, there would have been if there wasn't robots to fend against.-
Fluxx + Rongzero:"Nancy's remote!"
Fluxx:"Well, you said you could take them all on at once. You got this while I snag the remote?"
Rongzero:"Uh… Sure. Just be quick about it."
Fluxx:"Quick. You got it."
-Fluxx forcefully pushes his way out of the mob and quickly locates Nancy, specifically spotting her remote.-
Bingo! I'll be taking that.
-His powers easily pull the remote towards him, right out of Nancy's clutches.-
Dr. Nimble:"Hey! Give that back this instant!"
-She grabs for it, but by that point it was just out of reach. Unfortunately, moments before, Rongzero had struck a drone right as it was about to fire, causing it to misfire and nearly hit Jack. Up until then, Jack had his headphones on and brain turned off as he played his video game. But a laser bolt touching down at his feet was enough to convince him to get in on the action. He looked up and saw his mother's remote floating through the air and it didn't take long for him to figure out what was going on.-
Come to papa! Once I have the remote I can turn the bots against Nancy and get my answers.
-Right before Philip's eager fingers close on the device it’s snatched by Jack.-
Jack:"Yoink!"
-He had leapt with the grace of a trained dancer and effortlessly plucked the remote from the air.-
Fluxx:"Hey!"
-Jack shows off with a flip before landing with practiced poise. He stands up and puts a hand to his hip. He examines the remote with mock interest before smirking at his rival.-
Jack:"You want it? Come and get it."
-He clips the remote to his belt and snaps into a battle pose and his armor lights up with a white glow.-
As much as I hate fighting this guy, I need that remote!
Fluxx:"Fine. Have it your way."
-Philip tackles Jack, reaching for the remote that's just out of reach. They float and flip across the room, Jack's hands and feet rapidly delivering blows as Phil dodges and shields, all the while making attempts to steal back his objective.-
Jack:"You still not gonna' fight me?"
Fluxx:"Like I even know how."
Jack:"You say you can't fight, but I bet you're probably just too lazy to learn any moves."
Fluxx:"Well, you're not wrong…"
Rongzero:"Fluxx! Just get that remote already! I'm dying over here! Literally, if you don't hurry."
Fluxx:"Sorry! I'm working on it. Boy, this is some mess I dragged you into."
Rongzero:"Don't beat yourself up, Nancy's the one who hired Stan to attack you."
Dr. Nimble:"Wait, I did what now? Everyone STOP!"
-At once all the robots freeze and Fluxx and Jack stop their brawling. The only thing that continues moving is Rongzero who is abruptly stopped when he accidentally hits a drone that froze right in his flight path.-
Dr. Nimble:"You mean to tell me you're here because you think I paid that oafish fellow to beat you up for no reason?"
It sounds kind of dumb when you put it that way...
Fluxx:"Uh… Yeahiguessso"
Dr. Nimble:"Quit mumbling!"
Fluxx:"Yes ma'am!"
Dr. Nimble:"Well, seeing as I am not guilty of what you're accusing me of, why don't you just leave and we can forget this ever happened."
Rongzero:"Huh? You're just gonna' let us go? Just like that?"
Dr. Nimble:"It was all just a misunderstanding, besides, I'm not actually up to anything evil. At least, not at the moment. My latest dastardly plot isn't even past the brainstorming stage. Besides, I don't need you wrecking any more of my robots. Those things don't come cheap, you know!"
-Rongzero looks around at all the broken robot parts he was responsible for, suddenly feeling rather guilty.-
Fluxx:"Well, I'm glad we could come to a peaceful solution."
Dr. Nimble:"Yes, yes, I'm so merciful. Now leave."
Fluxx:"Well, see ya' Jack."
Jack:"Whatever, I'll beat you one of these days."
Dr. Nimble:"Bye, boys. And be sure to shut the blast door on your way out, I'm not paying to heat the outdoors!"
Well that ties things up with a nice little bow, doesn’t it? No loose ends, no unanswered questions. No-
Rongzero:“So, if Nancy didn’t hire Stan, why’d he attack you?”
I knew I was forgetting something. Well, there’s only one more issue, so it shouldn’t be long before we find out. Right?
On this day in 1780 the English prison reformer, social reformer & Quaker Elizabeth Fry was born.
Elizabeth Fry was one of Britain's most influential 19th century social reformers and is best known for her work on improving the conditions of Britain's gaols. Because of her work, first on the treatment of female prisoners at Newgate Prison and then more generally on the conditions in British and European gaols, she has often been referred to as the "angel of prisons".
Elizabeth was born on May 21st 1780 in Gurney Court, off Magdalen Street, Norwich, Norfolk, England into a prominent Quaker family, the Gurneys. Her father, John Gurney (1749–1809), was a partner in Gurney's Bank. Her mother, Catherine, was a member of the Barclay family who were among the founders of Barclays Bank. Her mother died when Elizabeth was twelve years old so as one of the oldest girls in the family, she was partly responsible for the care and education of the younger children.
She married Joseph Fry, who was also a Quaker, in August 1800 at the Norwich Goat Lane Friends Meeting House and moved to St Mildred's Court in the City of London. In 1811 she was recorded as a minister of the Religious Society of Friends.
Prompted by a family friend, Stephen Grellet, Fry visited Newgate Prison in 1813. The conditions she saw there horrified her. The women's section was overcrowded with women and children, some of whom had not even received a trial. The prisoners did their own cooking and washing in the small cells in which they slept on straw.
She returned the following day with food and clothes for some prisoners. She was unable to personally further her work for nearly four years because of difficulties within the Fry family, including financial difficulties in the Fry bank.
Fry returned in 1816 and was eventually able to fund a prison school for the children who were imprisoned with their mothers. Rather than attempt to impose discipline on the women, she suggested rules and then asked the prisoners to vote on them. In 1817 she helped found the Association for the Reformation of the Female Prisoners in Newgate. This association provided materials for women so that they could learn to sew patchwork which was calming and also allowed skills to develop, such as needlework and knitting which could offer employment when they were out of prison and then could earn money for themselves. This approach was copied elsewhere and led to the eventual creation of the British Ladies' Society for Promoting the Reformation of Female Prisoners in 1821. She also promoted the idea of rehabilitation instead of harsh punishment which was taken on by the city authorities in London as well as many other authorities and prisons.
Elizabeth Fry also campaigned for the rights and welfare of prisoners who were being transported. The women of Newgate Prison were taken through the streets of London in open carts, often in chains, huddled together with their few possessions. They were pelted with rotten food and filth by the people of the city. The fear was often enough to make women condemned to transportation riot on the evening before. Fry's first action was to persuade the Governor of Newgate prison to send the women in closed carriages and spare them this last indignity before transportation. She visited prison ships and persuaded captains to implement systems to ensure each woman and child would at least get a share of food and water on the long journey. Later she arranged each woman to be given scraps of material and sewing tools so that they could use the long journey to make quilts and have something to sell as well as useful skills when they reached their destination. She also included a bible and useful items such as string and knives and forks in this vital care package. Elizabeth Fry visited 106 transport ships and saw 12,000 convicts. Her work helped to start a movement for the abolition of transportation. Transportation was officially abolished in 1837, however Elizabeth Fry was still visiting transportation ships until 1843.
Fry wrote in her book Prisons in Scotland and the North of England that she stayed the night in some of the prisons and invited nobility to come and stay and see for themselves the conditions prisoners lived in. Her kindness helped her gain the friendship of the prisoners and they began to try to improve their conditions for themselves. Thomas Fowell Buxton, Fry's brother-in-law, was elected to Parliament for Weymouth and began to promote her work among his fellow MPs. In 1818 Fry gave evidence to a House of Commons committee on the conditions prevalent in British prisons, becoming the first woman to present evidence in Parliament.
Her humanitarian work didn’t stop at prisons. For example, she helped the homeless, establishing a "nightly shelter" in London after seeing the body of a young boy in the winter of 1819/1820. She also campaigned for the abolition of the slave trade and opened a training school for nurses. Her programme inspired Florence Nightingale, who took a team of Fry's nurses to assist wounded soldiers in the Crimean War.
Her work gained her admiration from people in high places. One such was Queen Victoria, who granted her an audience a few times before she was Queen and contributed money to her cause after she ascended to the throne. Another admirer was Robert Peel who passed several acts to further her cause including the Gaols Act 1823. The act was however largely ineffective, because there were no inspectors to make sure that it was being followed.
Fry died from a stroke in Ramsgate, England, on October 12th 1845. From 2001–2016, Fry was depicted on the reverse of £5 notes issued by the Bank of England.

I am fortunate to have my photographs included in the latest issue of UNDERDOGS photography magazine. I am also fortunate to be associated with the work of eight very fine photographers.

Issue 12
My name is Cal Rose. As a child, I was abandoned by my parents, and I had to learn to survive by myself. On the streets, alone. And today, I’m fighting for my life again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seline’s mouth drops open, apparently as surprised as I am. “Bruce? You’re Batman?”
He steps forward, and the costume melts back into his shadow. The room slowly warms again.
“Yes, I’m Batman. I didn’t tell you before, and I’m very sorry for that.” He sighs. “I wasn’t sure how I could, but now that we’re working together, I feel I have every reason to.”
“Look, it doesn’t matter right now. We still have Bane to get rid of, and now we have the stone, so Arrow can help.”
Seline speaks up, “I don’t think it makes any difference at this point. You’re still the same person as before.”
“You’re both right. Again, I’m sorry, but now isn’t the time. As for the plan, Bane knows we’re hunting him. Surprise doesn’t seem to be an option at this point. I say we go for an all-out attack.”
“There are more people than just Bane to take care of. When we were running to save Seline earlier, I met an accomplice of his. He said he was called Scarecrow. He was a strange fellow. He just let me go after a few seconds.”
“Odd. And there’s also whoever killed that first man. That didn’t seem like Bane’s work.”
“Whoever it is must keep to themselves. We’ve only ever seen Bane and Scarecrow.”
Wayne thinks for a long moment. “If we haven’t seen them, it’s likely they either left the gang for some reason, or they aren’t much of a fighter, and just stay hidden. Either way, they won’t be much of a problem for us.”
“Well, then we’ll outnumber them. We should take out Scarecrow first, then go after Bane.”
“No, if we do that, we’ll be setting ourselves up for an ambush. You take Scarecrow, while the Arrow and I go for Bane. I can hold him off if I’m not protecting anyone, and Arrow will provide backup if I need it. Once you take out Scarecrow, find us as quickly as possible and help with Bane.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
“Good. Now, I recommend we all get some sleep.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a dark room in Bane’s headquarters, the cloaked girl confronts Bane. ”I can’t stay here with you. I’ve been thinking more and more about the man you had me kill, and I can’t stay. You know you can’t stop me. Don’t try.”
“Very well. Go. Don’t come back when they all reject you.”
“Believe me, I won’t.”
Sorry this issue's so short. But it's setting up the big stuff!

After going to photograph a residence in east Garfield Park that had been issued an emergency demoliton permit yesterday, only to find it had been already razed and the lot cleaned up, I found this wonderful urban farm one block away at 3500 W. Fulton Blvd. The half-acre plot opened in 2014 and, as a Community Sponsored Agriculture participant, people can order boxes of vegetables and herbs (and optional other products) ready for pick up on a regular basis. Earnest Earth also sells its produce at the West Town Health Market on Thursdays.
