With only one P42DC, Amtrak Train No. 4, the eastbound "Southwest Chief", heads over Rock Creek JCT on Main Track 3 of the KCT East-West Corridor before entering the BNSF Marceline Sub at Congo. They left KCY 1 hour and 33 minutes late this morning.

Why only one unit today? Well, they did arrive in Kansas City with the usual pair of P42DC's, but the Charger on last night's Lincoln Service Train No. 319 suffered mechanical issues around Hermann, MO, and though they did make it all the way into KC, they didn't want to risk anymore potential service disruptions on the way back to Chicago this morning. So, the plan was conceived last night to remove the lead unit off this morning's No. 4, AMTK No. 176, and use it for this morning's No. 318 from KCY to CHI.

I'm sure you're thoroughly shocked to hear a Siemens Charger nearly broke down again. 12/1/24.

Just west of Blue Mountain Drive and the hotbox detector at MP 22.6, the westbound Zephyr is having no issues moving along at track speed in the continually-falling snow. Without question, passengers aboard the Zephyr are going to have a better experience on the trip west today compared to folks driving in the high country on I-70!

When we were on our Thanksgiving Ramble, I happened to notice this abandoned house out of the corner of my eye. As you can see in the Comments addition, it was barely visible from the road. Anyway, I stopped to photograph it. It's a good thing that I had my wide angle lens because I didn't have a lot of room to work with. I took this with a 16mm focal length.

On Saturday 30/11/2024, an early but troublesome and overpowered 6MX1 (Aurizon shuttle) is seen at Helps road, Direk (Adelaide) with the muted duo of fq1-gl102 in charge. Issues with gl102 saw this train put away at Bolivar loop, where it was overtaken by 6MP5.

Southern Pacific #4449 simmers in Amtrak's small yard at Michigan City as it awaits the arrival of its train. Close-clearance issues on the Norfolk Southern between Union Station and East Chicago forced the #4449 to detour via the IHB to CP 502. Rather than tie up the busy NS main with reuniting the steamer with its train, the decision was made to run #4449 light engine from Chicago to Michigan City earlier that morning, while the assisting Amtrak unit would handle the train along Amtrak's usual routing solo. The P42 that had accompanied the #4449 from Oregon to Chicago was swapped out for #37, one of the Michigan Line-assigned units equipped with ITCS. The Daylight would rejoin the train here and then it would be a sprint for Durand, MI. Unfortunately, I was using a cheap used 24-105 USM lens that day which didn't always focus sharply.

This small lake was established in a civic area near to a large park, which has a substantial body of water. The No Fishing Sign has been defaced and several young men are fishing in the lake everyday. The ducks have had a second clutch of chicks. So in spite of being asked not to fish, reported to Local Laws and possibly the police, they continue to fish.

It is a pity there isn't an on the spot fine!

You know what I'm sipping, I'll teach you how to mix it

But you're the only one cause I don't trust these bitches

I don't trust these bitches, they might catch me slipping

So, you're the only one cause I don't trust these bitches

They might catch me slipping and put in something different

So you're the only one cause I don't trust these bitches

I don't trust these bitches, they might catch me slipping

So you're the only one

I call it like I see it. I don't hold back when it comes to being candid on the hot issues.

Due to some fun internet issues, wrapping up the product updates I was working on to go along with my FLF release got delayed, so I'll be keeping my FLF item out an extra day for you all.

For this round of Fifty Linden Friday, I made some sweet thanksgiving themed place settings. A pretty detailed plate combination topped with a mini white pumpkin, They come in four options; Mist, Fern, Gold & Blush, each with it's own embroidered quote on the napkin underneath.

To go along with this release, I updated 2 of my older releases to now be Uni-HUD compatible. The Silk Draped dining table and the Suede dining chair. I took on a bundle of requests for these items, including making the table space a little wider to fit plates better, making the bow slightly less symmetrical and adding an extra mirrored bow version in the pack. I also added extra animations to the chairs, which include drinking and eating animations complete with new prop items.

These updates, as with all Uni-HUD updates are free for anyone who already owns these items, simply hit up the redelivery terminal for your fresh copy.

Have a wonderful thanksgiving everyone, and stay safe <3 Cielo.

The city of Turenum appears for the first time in the Tabula Peutingeriana, a 13th-century copy of an ancient Roman itinerary. The name, also spelled Tirenum, was that of the Greek hero Diomedes. The city was later occupied by the Lombards and the Byzantines. First certain news of an urban settlement in Trani, however, trace back only to the 9th century.

The most flourishing age of Trani was the 11th century, when it became an episcopal see in place of Canosa, destroyed by the Saracens. Its port, well placed for the Crusades, then developed greatly, becoming the most important on the Adriatic Sea. In the year 1063 Trani issued the Ordinamenta et consuetudo maris, which is "the oldest surviving maritime law code of the Latin West". There was also Jewish community in Trani, which was under the protection of the king until it was given to the Archbishop Samarus during the reign of Henry VI at the end of the 12th century. In that period many great families from the main Italian Maritime Republics (Amalfi, Pisa, Ragusa and Venice) established themselves in Trani. Trani, in turn, maintained a consul in Venice from 12th century. The presence of other consulates in many northern Europe centres, even in England and Netherlands, shows Trani's trading and political importance in the Middle Ages. Emperor Frederick II built a massive castle in Trani. Under his rule, in the early 13th century, the city reached its highest point of wealth and prosperity.

The Forth Road Bridge is a suspension bridge in east central Scotland. The bridge, opened in 1964, spans the Firth of Forth, connecting Edinburgh, at Queensferry, to Fife, at North Queensferry. It replaced a centuries-old ferry service to carry vehicular traffic, cyclists and pedestrians across the Forth; railway crossings are made by the adjacent Forth Bridge, opened in 1890.

The Scottish Parliament voted to scrap tolls on the bridge from February 2008. The bridge was nearing the end of its life in the 2010s, and a parallel replacement was built. On 5 September 2017 the bridge carried its final private cars, as the vast majority of traffic was transferred to the new Queensferry Crossing, seen here in the background. Following a few weeks closure for repairs, the new role of the Forth Road Bridge was as a public transport corridor, open only to buses, taxis, cyclists and pedestrians. At its peak, the Forth Road Bridge carried 65,000 vehicles per day (vpd), which is now expected to drop to only a few hundred following the opening of the Queensferry Crossing. Its probably now the biggest footbridge in the world.

The Queensferry Crossing (formerly the Forth Replacement Crossing) was built alongside the existing Forth Road Bridge and carries the M90 motorway across the Firth of Forth between Edinburgh, at South Queensferry, and Fife, at North Queensferry.

Proposals for a second Forth Road crossing, to meet unexpected demand, were first put forward in the 1990s, but no action was taken until structural issues were discovered in the Forth Road Bridge in 2004. In 2006-2007 Transport Scotland carried out a study and in December 2007, took the decision to proceed with a replacement bridge. The following year it was announced that the existing bridge would be retained as a public transport link. The Forth Crossing Act received Royal Assent in January 2011. In April 2011, the Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors Consortium were awarded the contract and construction began in late Summer/Autumn of 2011.

The Queensferry Crossing is a three-tower cable-stayed bridge, with an overall length of 2.7 kilometres (1.7 miles). Around 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) of new connecting roads were built, including new and upgraded junctions at Ferrytoll in Fife, South Queensferry and Junction 1A on the M9.

The bridge was first due to be completed by December 2016, but this deadline was extended to August 2017 after several delays. It is the third bridge across the Forth at Queensferry, alongside the Forth Road Bridge completed in 1964, and the Forth Rail Bridge completed in 1890. Following a public vote, it was formally named on 26 June 2013 and opened to traffic on 30 August 2017. The official opening was carried out on 4 September 2017 by Queen Elizabeth II, fifty-three years to the day after she opened the adjacent Forth Road Bridge.

The Firth of Forth is the estuary (firth) of several Scottish rivers including the River Forth. It meets the North Sea with Fife on the north coast and Lothian on the south. It was known as Bodotria in Roman times. In the Norse sagas it was known as the Myrkvifiörd.
