For the last decade I have driven past this barn scores of times. I have photographed it during sunrises, sunsets and during all four seasons. This week when I ventured out I was surprised to see it was in the process of getting demolished. It will not be replaced by anything that is akin to what it once was and it illustrated again to me how America is losing irreplaceable landmarks of our agricultural past.
It made me think about the landmarks in my life that are no longer present. My first awakening to the uncertainty of life was when my grandparents passed on. As a youngster I thought they would always be around. Then the parade lengthened as aunts and uncles joined the eternal crowd followed by my parents. Now after seven and a half decades the final path has been joined by my siblings. Each passing of a personal landmark has emphasized the brevity of life but especially the last one.

Every trip has its disappointments and on this one it was Worcester Cathedral . I have never seen it before but I was not impressed. The exterior is fine, particularly when seen from the banks of the River Severn it also has a splendid Norman Crypt . I have photographs of these features I will post at some point .
However the inside of the Cathedral is disappointing a medieval building from the twelfth century has been ruined by the Victorians .In the 1860s, the cathedral was subject to major restoration work planned by Sir George Gilbert Scott and A. E. Perkins. The results are in my opinion grandiose and vulgar . The Victorians could build fine canals, town halls and railways stations but they do not do delicacy .
The City of Worcester was also vandalised by town planners in the nineteen fifties and sixties . They removed most of the cities medieval buildings to create ugly office blocks and shops . Cities like Bristol Hull and Coventry had their ancient buildings destroyed by German bombing in the second world war . So I cannot forgive a local authority without cause for destroying the historic heart of their own city . I can only echo the words of the great architectural writer Nikolaus Pevsner who described it as “totally incomprehensible.,act of self-mutilation”. When you think of all the fuss that was made when one family dull Victorian statue in Bristol was pushed into the harbour yet in places like Worcester irreplaceable ancient buildings were destroyed to create shopping malls thats criminal.

This particular post was inspired by a series of moments. Irreplaceable, soft moments, that I hold very dear to me; with someone that I connected with. We couldn't always explain
it but over distance, time & impossible obstacles. We still, always found a way to one another. It's passionately life-changing, to find someone that impacts you that way. To find someone who makes you want to face your fears, head on, eyes open. Someone who makes you feel entirely whole, just by being near them.
My life is filled with some heavy regrets, but letting us fade; would be one of the worst choices, I've ever made.
I believe that both of us, do better together & I know you are worth fighting a thousand lives for. Hopefully, these photos will one day, amount to 1% of what you mean to me. I hope this year is one of the best in your entire life. I project success to everything you do & accomplish. I push safety, peace & light into you for any moment that darkness may shadow. P.S. I started reading The Guest Cat, one of my many book purchases of the year. This quote really hit me hard as many others. One of the best things I got from Kagami event is booN's kura Ruined Hokora. I am in love! I really love the movie Spirited Away and there is a part in the beginning about Hokoras. In every sim design I do, they will always be around. Anyways, the quote somehow seemed to go well with my new ruined Hokora!

I took many photos at this rally, but wanted to choose the most representative one. These people stood on the steps of ROM. The Royal Ontario Museum is having exhibition on the beginning of life on earth. I liked this lady with sign, as it represents feeling of irreplaceable loss of 2 years many people feel in so called democracies. Some people in their 20's like this lady, some in their retirement, when their lifespan is ending and every year is precious. Yes, we have chosen our leaders, but with completely different mandate that they try to impose.

Magnificent View from Highway Climb to Sunwapta Pass Looking Back Down the Columbian Parkway.
To travel the Icefields Parkway is to experience one of Canada's national treasures and most rewarding destinations. Stretching 232km (144mi.) through the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site, this world-class journey offers access to a vast wilderness of pristine mountain lakes, ancient glaciers and broad sweeping valleys. This special travel route winds its way through two national parks, boasting a unique and irreplaceable landscape rich in history and natural beauty second to none.
Opportunities to see elk, moose, goats, sheep, bears and caribou along the Icefields Parkway are excellent.
The parkway takes you through grizzly country. Visitors who spot grizzlies, black bears or other wildlife from the road should stay in their vehicles and avoid harassing the animal or endangering their own safety.
The parkway traverses high country parallel to the continental divide, crossing two mountain passes and countless avalanche paths.
Roadside exhibits at pull-offs and points of interest explain the wildlife, geology and history of the area.

Da Lat has been a popular destination for domestic tourism.
As such, Da Lat boasts of vibrant nightlife, and there is no shortage of restaurants, cafes, bars, food stalls and other entertainments.
During the American War, there was a tacit agreement between the parties fighting with each other to share Da Lat peacefully as both sides needed the irreplaceable resort destination. It was like old Acapulco where the fighting gang groups in Mexico had a similar agreement.

Let’s return to my dearest friend Yulia Ganja, shall we? (See the previous post, in which I’ve introduced her to you, if you haven't already). Here we are at the latest night forest film festival, which Yulia founded several years ago and till then is its irreplaceable organizer. It lasted 3 days and nights or about so (it was far, pre-war 2020, so I’m not sure of my memory). At the end of the festival, in the predawn hours, we saw the latest movies. There was a lot of Yulia herself in them (she was a director of several movies of the festival program and one of the main actress in them, and was good at both manifestations) and the whole episode about me (my dearest friends hitchhiked from Slovenia to Kathmandu through Russia and Inner Mongolia near the New Year, making movie meantime, and I’ve brought it to the festival). There wasn’t that many of us still before the big screen: some already left to sleep. Yulia and I sat side by side, and I’ve got a flash of insight. “Yulia”, – said I, – “Don’t you feel yourself as a movie character, somehow went through this big screen and found yourself before it?” – “Right!”, – said Yulia.

Sixteen of the trees in a corner of Broadwells Wood. The whole wood is scheduled to be felled by HS2 Ltd in April, 2020.
Of course, the trees are not numbers - they are a vital living part of the natural world we are lucky to share - their loss is ours - and it breaks my heart.

A gift from my daughter-in-law. During the winter these are always in the photo bag with this lens. These mittens are irreplaceable in cold days while I'm waiting for hours for a chance to shoot a birds. These look funny for woman my age but they do a great job.
