The Culinary Arts Food Team Food Show, Jan. 12, at the Culinary Arts Training Center, provided a look at the Fort Bragg culinary team before they participate in the Annual Culinary Arts Competition at Fort Lee, Virginia, in March. The competition tests Soldiers from the food service background on their culinary skills, and their ability to teach food preparation for everyday use in dining facilities. The event also showcased local and national food vendors who provide services to Fort Bragg.

A role-player is “wounded” while returning fire during Gryphon Group Security Solutions’ medical training lane, May 4, at the Fort Bragg Combat Training Center in Maxton, North Carolina. The lane pits a small contingent against an overwhelming force with fire superiority. The team must make their way to an extraction point while providing medical aid to the wounded encountered en route. Soldiers assigned to 4th Military Information Support Group train on advanced pistol marksmanship, evasive driving and first-aid techniques during the week-long course.
Corvias residents enjoy several blow up slides during the Fallapalooza Carnival, Nov. 16 at the Fort Bragg Polo Field. Kids lined up to fly down the slides. The event, an annual fall carnival hosted by Corvias Family Housing, encouraged Families to play together.
Removing dense undergrowth using a controlled burn reduces the potential for dangerous wildfires. A dense understory not only provides fuel for wildfires, but changes the ecosystem making it unsuitable for some species of wildlife and training at Fort Bragg. Equally important, prescribed fire supports the military mission and optimizes training conditions for Soldiers.
