Seen in an Irish pub window.

Finley is getting ready for her 3rd birthday ... she will be legal in dog years! ;)

My newest addition to the Wasabi District. About 3000 pieces and the size of a typical CREATOR Expert corner building.

Irish Pub on the first floor!

Usually crowded with tourist on this snowy sunday afternoon it was quite empty on the street. Nice!

21 March 2019 Dublin

Early in 2019 the Sextant, a Cork institution, closed its doors for the last time.

The actual building is an architectural conservation area so it cannot be demolished but as it is not a protected structure only the exterior has to be retained.

My evening strolls around Randalstown with a dachshund and a Leica continue unabated! Here's tonight's visual stimulation!

Warehouse District, Austin, TX

The area around Fado's Irish pub is the heart of the warehouse district. This area has been gaining in popularity and, some might argue, has surpassed 6th Street for night life, especially for professionals and people over college age.

In June [2019] it was announced that this hundred year old pub would cease trading immediately.

At the centre of Ranelagh is "Ranelagh Triangle", semi-officially "the Angle", which is the junction of Ranelagh Village and Charleston Road at Field's Terrace. Nearby restaurant "Tribeca" references these geographical features (i.e., Tri-angle Be-low Ca-nal). To the North of the Triangle is the "Hill Area" of Ranelagh, which was the scene of Lee Dunne's novel, "Goodbye to the Hill". Ranelagh contains many fine Victorian streets such as those surrounding Mount Pleasant Square.

To cap it all off

From one cap to another, the Irish flat cap is all the rage again, thanks to fashion changes & celebrity plugs.

To cap it all off, hand gentures can be an optional extra.

This photograph suffered from an unexpected amount of noise.

The Boars Head is situated on Capel Street in Dublin’s market area. It is a traditional, old style Dublin pub with a Celtic feel. The atmosphere is relaxed and conversational with music playing in the background not imposing on your chats with old and new friends.

I have never visited this pub but it appears to be very popular with visitors from the UK.

In June 2019 it was announced that this hundred year old pub would cease trading immediately. Over the years it operated under different names such as "Butlers"and "McGrath's".

Smith’s Bar in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood near Times Square has been in business since 1954. Although this old Irish ☘️ pub which closed briefly in late 2014 before a new owner (actress Hayden Pannetire’s father) took over the former dive bar and renovated it, he thankfully kept and restored the original #neon signage.

This photo of the original #storefront was taken in 2004 and appears in our book “Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York”.
