This is obviously a bench. And it is Monday. But this is no "Bench Monday". I actually thought about getting on the bench and taking a shot, but there were too many people around - this is a very popular ice cream place and there are always people there. With kids. And what kind of example it would have been for kids? On other hand, kids most likely wouldn't think I am crazy, only adults would. Anyway...the main reason I didn't take a shot "bench Monday" style was the shadows. I really wanted to catch the shadows and didn't want to block the light. So here. Just a bench.

Eyelashes added by ai because i don’t have nice lashes and I sure could not put on false eyelashes without them getting stuck to cheeks or chin 😂

I took this photo in the summer of 2010...and first posted it Here. I decided to use this for a pop art style collage. I went back to the original macro photo and imported it to my iPhone where I processed the image with an app - PictureShow - with it's "PopArt" filter - many, many times to get a good variety to choose from. I then loaded it into a different app - Diptic to make the collage. I brought it back into Photoshop on my computer and added the signature.
I love it!! May have to change my buddy icon to this for a while now.

When I say *light and sound show*, I can only think about one I saw in Egypt. They do this at night at Giza Pyramids. And while the Pyramids itself are an amazing sight, the show is the cheesiest thing you can ever imagine. It also must be quite a torture for people who live in parts of Cairo from where you can see it. Even if from afar. Anyway, my *light and sound show* is much more tasteful. :-)
Also this is my Cliche Saturday Scavenger Hunt entry, music category. HCS, you guys!
Well, fake Polaroid that is...iPhone really makes pretty believable fakes. And considering how crazy expensive Polaroid film now is, this should do. Although if you haven't seen The Impossible Project site, check it out. It is kind of cool what these guys did. Ten former Polaroid employees who saved the last production plant and resurrected Polaroid film. Now they are making all kinds of new instant film types, but at these prices, one should be really nuts about Polaroid to want to buy it.
Right now it is hard to believe that spring is not that far away - cold, and rainy, and it may snow again tonight. Grrrr...

Trying to catch water splashing by dropping a tomato into water - didnt get the effect I wanted to so tried this.
Used GLAZE which is an App on the iPhone to "work over" this light capture for creating a Painterly effect.
Cliche Scavenger Hunt, week 8, nature cliche. You may think that this lake is the only "nature" around here because I always end up taking pictures of it. But we have plenty of nature. Piles and piles of nature. You wouldn't believe how much nature we have, but this lake is practically right around the corner, so it steals the spotlight. Or sunlight...or whatever! HCS!

I guess I needed to prove that the first one was not just a fluke. Here. I proved it.
Believe it or not, I painted this bench myself a few years ago. As you can see, it is a real masterpiece. :-)
Well, technically this is not a bench, but a footstool. I use it to reach upper shelves in my kitchen cabinets and still barely make it. Why they are made so unreachable is beyond me...Not all of us are 7 ft. tall.
Here you can have a better view of it and also see my original model for the "painting".
I love reflections. But they don't love me back...I rarely can find them. Still I believe reflections are very cliche. How many do you have in your stream? 1...10...100? But where I live there are not many opportunities for reflection pictures: one lake nearby which I already photographed to death (see today, yesterday and many times before) and no decent puddles ever...not even after the rain. So cliche or not, I am happy to take a shot any chance I get!

Nothing particularly interesting about this shot, I just couldn't ignore the colors. And iPhone makes it easy not to ignore stuff. You should see how many "not particularly interesting", but somewhat quirky images are sitting on my hard drive because of that!
A Heineken sign (never a bad thing), Baileys Irish Cream (don't care much for that one - too sweet to my taste), Opal Nera (never tried it, but considering its main ingredient is anise, I can easily imagine what it tastes like), Krug I think is a champagne and champagne is more about ritual than taste, but I was mostly attracted to the reflections in the store window, not to all the alcohol in it. Believe it or not.
I have posted a similar shot before...the one I took in Washington, D.C. I guess it makes this one even more cliche. And the bike was a bonus - I didn't plan for it...it just rolled into my frame when I was about to press iPhone virtual shutter button. Amsterdam is an awesome place for this kind of shots. The motorbikes are parked everywhere, so there are plenty of mirrors. If I am ever in Amsterdam again and have more time, I think I will go around checking out all the mirrors and taking a whole bunch of pictures with these little reflections. Could be a fun project. One more mirror shot is in the comments. HCS, everyone!

I took this on my way to work and uploaded straight from an iPhone. My first direct iPhone upload...yay! And I didn't cause any accidents on the road while doing it! Yay again!
We are having really weird weather here in North Carolina - 65 degrees, which feels even warmer because of the rain and humidity. Hard to believe, considering so many of you are snowed in today. Stay warm!

I have a bunch of these painted eggs...some are from Ukraine and some from India. You may have seen them before as I used them as a prop more than once. But today they make for my Scavenger Hunt "holidays cliche" entry. Those of you who celebrate Easter, have a happy Easter weekend. And HCS, everyone!
