The weather is absolutely miserable. Yesterday I drove past this lake on my way to the store and its parking lot was completely empty. Really unusual sight. I don't have a "before" shot for this one as I took it with an iPhone app which does all the "sliding" without saving the original, but you have to trust me. It's slid. HSS, everyone!

Wishing a Happy Easter to all My Flickr Friends - with some tulips. To me the tulip is a symbol of spring - which I always look forward to.
Tulips are often called the harbingers of spring, as they are some of the first flowers to bloom. Spring flowering bulbs such as the tulip seem to come back from the dead, which is one reason they are associated with Easter.
The beautiful tulip flower is also considered to be a messenger of passion and love. A favorite Easter flower for lovers, it is used to convey the feelings of the heart to a special someone. While the red tulip proclaims "I Love You", tulips of any color mean "Our Love Is Perfect".

Our leaves are finally red and yellow and everything in-between. I iPhoned it as I was driving home from work on Thursday when sunset light was making all the colors really pop. I also invented this "iPhoned" verb (at least I think I invented it), which covers everything from taking the shot with iPhone camera to editing it using iPhone apps.
So I took the shot out of the rolled down window, edited it right there in the car, and then edited it again and again. Just in time for Sliders Sunday. HSS, you guys!

Well...the title writes itself here. When I took these - with an iPhone, of course - I didn't realize the filter I was using was the exact match for the color in the name of the musical. Or may be I did. Subconsciously. Couldn't decide which one I like better, thus the diptych. I bet I can get some extra cliche points for that. Oh, and it is better in large, so hit "L" if you have time.
"Shadows" cliche entry for Cliche Saturday Scavenger Hunt. HCS, everyone!
my last stay in my home town, we stayed at the closest hotel to Lake Erie, this is a great Lake and one of the only Great Lakes to offer such a spectacular sunset and sunrise...... where ever you look,Ive been told.
Took out some of the color saturation from the previous post... #colorvibe #hintofcolor #blackandwhite #colorsplash #tag #train #southflorida #blossom #iphonephotography #iphone5s #iphone365 #iphoneonly #iphone #iphoneapps
Hurrah for a long weekend! We have a day off today at work and while I don't celebrate Easter (or any other religious holidays for that matter), I am planning to thoroughly enjoy this extra day. Starting now: coffee, brie, pears and - yes - flickr...
And I know this one is tiny. On other hand, no mirror would be big enough to fit this building. So this is my "Mirror Shots" cliche entry for Cliche Saturday Scavenger Hunt. Extra cliche points for the main subject being Vespa...this little scooter is everywhere now and Flickr is no exception. The rest of the Vespa and the rest of the building are in the comments. HCS, everyone!
It snowed yesterday for the first time. And not just in my backyard. In North Carolina snow happens only once or twice during winter and I don't remember last time it happened that early. I was planning on uploading a different picture today, but thought I better post this one right away. If temperature goes back to 60 F, snow pictures would not feel right. Happy sliding everyone!
Taken and edited with an iPhone.
I know the flare is a bit over the top, but first, this is Sliders Sunday, so over the top is to be expected. And second, I can't resist shooting into the sun with an iPhone. The predictable unpredictability of the final result is too much fun. HSS, everyone!
Another version is in the comments.

Night, day, sun, moon...if you are not sure, I don't blame you. This is one of the outtakes from India trip a year ago - I have another version somewhere in my stream. Amazingly it was taken in the middle of the day, but this is what you get when you shoot into the sun with an iPhone. iPhone app did most of the original "sliding", I just changed the green hue to blue and added texture (both in Photoshop). HSS, guys!
I am never in my bedroom at this time of the day, but this is when the light is best there. Of course, this sort of light early in the morning would have been seriously annoying, but in the afternoon it is simply beautiful. I took this quick shot with an iPhone, run it through something like three different processing applications (all phone based), tried to resist doing anything else, failed miserably and ended up adding texture in photoshop.
So Sliders Sunday it is!

This was completely unplanned shot - I was stuck in a long line of cars at the traffic light, rolled down a window and took a shot with an iPhone - but I kind of like the way it turned out. Especially after some extra iPhone-based "sliding". HSS everyone!
This is true. India is all about colors! It is especially true when there is nothing else in your image worth bragging about. Most of the pictures on this trip I took from the moving car...so focus and composition were out of the question...or maybe I should say out of the window! This is how blurry it came out - I didn't add any extra blur on purpose. But I did run this image through three different iPhone apps to increase saturation and add textures. I don't know if it says India to you, but this is exactly how I remember this trip - colors and blur and a lot of bumpy driving.
Happy Sliders Sunday, everyone!
Something is always in bloom in North Carolina. Well, may be not in January, but 9 months out of 12.
Yes, I have once again signed up for a 365 which coincides with a 365 with FatMumSlim. Day 1 is favorite colour and mine is purple.
We made a Polish Cabbage soup today! And we’ve been excited about eating it the past couple days.
Ingredients: Cabbage, Kielbasa, Bacon, Onions, Celery, Carrots, Turnips, Chicken stock, Water, Chicken bouillon, Apple cider vinegar, Bay leaves and Dill.
Directions: Sauté the Kielbasa and Bacon. Then sauté the Onions, Celery and Carrots. Once they’re softened, add the Chicken stock, cubed up Turnips, and chopped Cabbage. Add more water and chicken bouillon as needed ( to cover the soup) Add a teaspoon of Dill and two Bay leaves. Simmer on the stove ‘till the Carrots and Cabbage are cooked through.
Add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the soup. Simmer another 15 mins.
Pour soup into bowls and let cool before eating. Enjoy!
