It was hard to avoid any women's football as our holiday in early July every town there were reminders like this one. I managed to the "Keep on Kicking" display on the front of Berne station with the giant football on the square in front of the station.
It was nigh on impossible to avoid people in the shot but no doubt the child behind this display was captivated by the games.
Well, well done to the UK Women's Football Team what an excellent result.
A photographers dream with some lovely action shots to be had.
A huge amount of work going on, along the promenade at Cromer to combat the rising sea waters and limit damage of the much more regular storms that now batter the East Anglia Coastline.
It is of course Climate Change that is to blame.
There are some 38,000 tons of giant rocks being arranged to protect the sea wall with big diggers and excavators etc. They are laying a heavy duty mesh under the rocks to stop sand coming up with the waves, so there are gaps between the rocks to slow and absorb some of the punishing power of the waves against the sea front.
More to follow over the next few days.
Butler railway station, Western Australia.
For a total population of just 13.5 thousand people this station is very generous in size.
I know this isn't a very exciting photo, but we don't get to see the 'SES' volunteers very often here in Perth. Western Australia.
It's a fantastic volunteer service that helps communities in times of disaster.
A bit on the lines of a. civil defence organisation in times of War.
Only these people help when Mother Nature hits hard. Very necessary these days....

Captured following rainfall on a cloudy morning. Resurrection fern is enveloping the branch while wisps of Spanish moss can barely be seen in the background.

This may be my best photo of Mont Edit Cavell named in honour of the British nurse who helped wounded soldiers flee towards their country during World War I. She worked in occupied Belgium. When her subterfuge was discovered, the Germans executed her.
Moon over the Gulf of Mexico. From the balconey of the South Beach Condo Hotel, Treasure Island, Florida.
The lupines are almost finished and mostly deadheaded, but the gaillardia are in full bloom and several day lilies, planted this spring, have started to bloom. Several foxglove 'volunteers' have been removed before they went to seed, since they are now classified as invasive. Vancouver, BC.

In the very early morning, before the tourists arrived, I photographed the stunning mounted statue of Todo Takatora that stands in the inner courtyard of Imabari castle. He is overlooking the restored 5 story tenshu (keep) of the coastal castle he designed and built in the early 17th C. Shikoku Island, Japan.
