The Jarrah Pavilion, previously referred to as 'Rotunda One', was the first such shelter built in Kings Park and is located to the south of the State War Memorial precinct. Completed in 1899, it was constructed of Jarrah timber with a tile roof and was a kiosk and popular summer house.
The original floor was boarded and raised to allow people sitting inside to have a clear view of the river. With magnificent 360-degree views of the city of Perth, the Swan River and the Darling Range, it is now a popular wedding venue.
It is not only Japan with Bullet Trains - The Swiss have them as well - believe this was the fastest commercial high speed train in the world in 2021, the SBB ETR 610.
It looked like two trains linked together here as was very long, some peak time trains split at St Gallen and go in different directions.
For passengers wanting to go to Munich it is easier by train rather than fly, the train time is only three and a half hours from Zurich.
There's a restaurant car with cafe-bar counter, the train has power sockets at all seats and free WiFi. The trains run from Geneva, Basle, Berne, Zurich to Milan and beyond.
The train tilts to the platform level to ease access for passengers, as well as tilting on the bends of the route.
We returned from Brig to Spiez on this one, but I am not sure how much faster it was but it does look a pretty mean train.
"SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) and Trenitalia (Italian Railways) jointly operate an excellent train service between major Swiss cities and Milan, with a handful of trains continuing to Verona & Venice, Bologna or Genoa. These trains are branded EuroCity, a generic term for quality train in much of Europe. They're operated by either bullet-nosed Astoro trains, some owned by SBB some by Trenitalia, or new Swiss Giruno trains."

Jour 309
When I created this image, I remembered this 2005 movie Zathura. It's the story of two boys who play this board game about space. Each step becomes real and their house travels through space.
In the foreground, in front of the blue flax, the lavender is about to bloom. A few Icelandic poppies are blooming. The prolific lupines are, in particular, attracting a lot of bees, although some of the lupines are starting to go to seed starting from the bottom of the blossoms and I'm starting to prune these out before they go to seed and take over the garden. I'm hoping that this will create more room for the many other later blooming flowers to succeed the lupines.
A few bees and butterflies are starting to show up. The lupines that overwintered have begun to bloom. Wall flowers are blooming and the tulips are towards their end for the season. A few tall allium are starting to bloom and lots of annuals are starting up. Long established rhododendrons are blooming well.

A colourful character from the motor racing world sadly another loss of life due to cancer.
He did lots of commentary as well as being a racing driver and team owner but there was always a bit of controversy but that made watching the Formula One events on television even more enjoyable.
Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit created this stand near the pits for a lovely tribute to Eddie Jordan.
The light of the sun is truly powerful, able to shine through whatever obstacles that stand in its way.
A simple and casual picture of the sunset, taken in a busy city.
The Flickr Lounge: Favorite Things to Shoot..... just using my iPhone. We had done an earlier shoot of the Ponte Vecchio at sunset, followed by a lovely dinner. I had my camera and tripod with me, but sometimes it is just easier to use the iPhone......just sometimes.
