Mecabricks works properly on mobile devices like tablets. On the other hand, mobile phone screens are often too small which messes up the user interface.

I did this little project on my iPad in my bed yesterday night. That is definitely something I couldn't imagine would be one day possible when I started Mecabricks years ago.

Another day has come and gone

And I've been holding in

Not holding on

Feeling out of place, I

I'm wanting to escape, I

I pack my bags

With nothing left to say

I did a little more work on the writing app; it's coming along nicely. I've tweaked the appearance of the customisable keybar. It's not there yet, but it's getting closer.

I find this app really handy, and given the feedback I've had I'll likely release it on the App Store at a sensible price before long. The feature-set is deliberately bare-bones and lightweight, and aimed at people who just want to write. I use it for article drafts, topic-specific notes, software requirements/specifications, project plans, documentation, fiction, and that kind of thing. Here's what it does:

- Add, rearrange and delete any number of plain-text documents. Automatic live-updated titles based on the first line of the document.

- Customisable keybar. Each key can insert text of your choice, and can optionally wrap the selection (if any) in two instances of the text. That's handy for _underscoring_ or "quoting" or such. There are also a few special-case keys you can create, like Undo/Redo.

- Live async word-count, which can be tapped to toggle it between word and character count (including spaces etc).

- Autosave every 30 seconds, when switching documents, when quitting, and explicitly when tapping a document's title in the sidebar. You should never need to worry about saving.

- Choice of font/size for the writing area (one font/size for the whole thing; it's fundamentally a plain-text editor and always will be).

- Markdown support: integrated HTML preview (via the "Discount" Markdown library and based on Geoff Pado's "Jotdown" project), and built-in syntax reference.

- Copy document as plain text or as Markdown-transformed HTML.

- Export (for sync via iTunes) or email document as plain text, Markdown-transformed HTML, or PDF.

- (Planned) Simplenote sync.

That's the entire app. It's lean, focused, and lets me get thoughts, notes and stories onto the iPad quickly and with a minimum of fuss. If you're looking for a word processor, document management, lots of metadata or such, you're definitely in the wrong place.

If, on the other hand, you want to get thoughts into electronic format rapidly and conveniently wherever you are, you might want to give it a try. I'll be posting updates on Twitter (I'm mattgemmell) as I move forward.

If you have a good suggestion for the app's name (shouldn't be any longer than about 12 characters, due to the way iPad shows app names on the Home screen), let me know. I'll put your name in the credits and send you a promo code for the app if I pick yours.

I keep my iPad on a stool next to me when I'm working on my computer because I chat with my family on it.

This is a color version of a study I made time ago in B/W. Done on iPad4 with Inspire Pro 2.0 (beta). The update to this version is available now.-New and amazing features coming along with this new Inspire Pro.

Also, I´ll be painting live and giving advices on ipad art in Kiwipixel booth at MacWorld (San Francisco) next weekend. I´ll be so happy if any of you come to visit

Keep painting!! ;)

Took my original kindle cover and made it larger to fit the iPad for a custom order. This one is not for sale but it will be a prototype for a tester who will provide a review on the product. I was tryin to differ the two designs so I changed the closure a little but not sure if I like it.

What does everyone think?

The original design is an envelope closure more of a triangle shape,

Apple announced the iPad.

Because I wanted to know the size, I made it with corrugated cardboard.

It was quite big.

I never think that I want to buy it now...

Traditional Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Ganache

iPad cake as requested by the client for her boyfriend's birthday on ... (look at the date icon on the cake) ... 13 September.

She also requested to have 2 beer bottles on the cake somewhere. I can only assume that he likes to drink beer :D

Everything is edible - Apple Logo & Icons were handcut and hand-painted.

I normally dont like doing 'gadgets' cakes - but surprisingly, I had so much fun with this particular cake. I added the blue ribbon/ bow which I think give it that last final touch and make it more my style of cake :)

So, we finally bought an iPad for Ryan. We had been planning to get one since few months back, but didn't feel like getting the original version since the new one was coming :). So last week it finally arrived here in Singapore and I queued for 2 hours to get this iPad 2.

The plan was to just install educational apps and books inside it so Ryan can spend his time better than watching TV, but I think that plan is not going very well as he's not that interested in reading :)) Once I put some of his favorite movies and a few games in it, he's been using it for those :))

I will waiting for Wi-Fi + 3G model. How about you ?

Well it's not the best shot in the world I was in too busy of a hurry to play.

It's fast, it's fun and heavier then I thought and collects a lot of dust and fingerprints

And more fun then I had imaged by the commercials! It's addictive

Plus it does a lot of things I never dreamed of. The thing that shocked us all the most is just how many apps there are already for it and how much fun using all the fingers on all your hands at once for a game can be.

My fav apps so far

1. Pocket Pond by far the most fun I've hand in years so real you feel like you have a pond on your iPad with real fish and dragonflys and they interact as you use your fingers. Drag your fingers slowly through the water and they a look, strike the water hard and they are afraid and the water splashes, and it's FREE!

2. Pandora free radio over the internet fashioned after what you want

3. SketchBook draw with your fingers!!

4. Virtuoso HD play piano on your iPad with all 10 fingers!!!

5. Marvel comics

6. Wikipanion

7. PvZ HD a demented little addictive game!

8. Soundhound, identifies any song in 10 seconds or less.

9. ABC TV

10. Kindle all the books on Amazon

11. iBooks books that interact live you would not believe

12. Tap Tap Radiation like dance dance revolution only for your fingers.

13. Dictionary.com

14. iMDB

15. AliceLite Alice in Wonderland the Interactive book app

Whoops. I thought she was a member of the JKPP group, but as it turns out she isn't. I guess I must have just favorited the reference photo because I liked it.

Oh well, paint on!

I had some fun with the brushes rather than getting too caught up in the details.
