I've been playing with taking close-up photos with an iPad. My friend, Lucy, alerted me to the idea. I used a small pocket 30X microscope positioned under the back camera. I used a small LED flashlight as my light source.

Launch day at the Apple store. There's nothing like an Apple product lanuch, and everyone in line was cheerful, excited and friendly. Thanks much to the Apple store employees who were tollerant of me and my camera as I wandered around.

2010. Diseño de interfaz de una aplicación iPAD que posibilita una comunicación inclusiva para estudiantes sordos dentro y fuera del aula.

APEINTA es un proyecto de investigación que tiene como objetivo conseguir una educación inclusiva para estudiantes sordos. Se trata de un sistema de cloud computing que permite a los profesores y otros oradores transcribir su discurso a subtítulos y mostrarlos en tiempo real en cualquier dispositivo habilitado para la web dentro o fuera del aula. El proyectó ganó el Delegates Prize del Microsoft Accessibility Challenge en la Web for All Conference 2011 de Hyderabad, India.

Mi papel consistió en diseñar la interfaz de la aplicación cliente para el iPAD, aplicando las Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines for the iPad, y aprovechando las capacidades del dispositivo para, por ejemplo, mostrar diferentes modos de visualización en función de la orientación: modo de subtítulos y modo de texto sin formato.
