Summer school students earning their iPad License! Summer school iPad crew- learning basic skills and previewing apps used in the classrooms.
OK .....I fell for the marketing hype and quite unlike my shopping habits, became an early adapter for the IPad.
I guess I'll figure out what to do with it in time.
I was struck by how the iPad in this setting resembles the "Newspad" device described in the novel and film: "2001: A Space Odyssey" :-)

Bluetooth is using the battery a bit though... but all quite a usable setup. It's like living in the future!

I created this image with some ambient lighting from an iPad while I was sitting in complete darkness and holding the iPad above my head. :)
It was a test to mock studio work and I think you will comment how successful I am.

Made from 4 layers of leather, inlayed and top-stitched. The outer and back layers are a lovely top grain cowhide. The inlay is made from a softer white cowhide and pearlized blue lambskin for the lining. There is a flap and velcro closure in the back (not shown).
Sketchbook Pro, iPad - completely freehand
This was done with Sketchbook Pro 2.0 on my iPad. The drawing was done completely freehand from a reference photo at appears in the thread below.
The process of creating digital art is very similar to painting on a canvas, without waiting for the paint to dry. I start with a rough sketch and then build layers upon layers, utilizing different brushes and 'paints'.
Total time: approximately 8-10 hours.
